OK, I’m confused.

As usual when I hear anything interesting I’ve just run outside at the sound of a big radial, expecting to see either a Dromodaire water bomber (it’s bushfire season) or one of the local warbird experience Yaks. Instead I could swear I’ve just seen a Hellcat. Big radial, sounded superb, square wingtips, beefy body and most definitely not a Harvard. It went straight overhead, remarkably low, so I didn’t get an oblique view to properly identify it. Problem is, I don’t know of any Grumman Cats in Australia, let alone here in WA.

Any suggestions?

I blame global warming from dinosaur farts and the methane produced. It’s a bit hot sitting in an Aircraft witout airconditioning, especially over fires 😀

What a lovely machine, seems to have more character than a Spit. Apart from owning such a hansome machine how does a person go about flying one in old Blighty? Assuming one has a few hours on tailwheels and radial type stuff, what else can you do? Are there others who fly them apart from owners? Is paying several bazillion dollars and sitting behind somebody else flying one the only way an “Outsider” could do it?

I’m not really into rap but with this one the boys have some fun with Drom’s, interesting pastime.
