I liked until the very end when they are stood at the graveside and salute the grave. An understandable gesture but just ruined it all for me.
It’s like on Star Wars – Revenge of the Sith when the good guy’s all die at the end.
I have had the privilage of knowing and working with many polish workers (mainly college/university students who have come over here to improve their English language) and I don’t think I have ever met a nicer selection of people in my life.
Most of those that I know are extremely polite and outstandingly hard working. They do their country proud.

The NATO home page has a good summary of their deployment in Afghanistan which shows it is a lot more than a US/UK operation, a lot of the UK reporting seems to report the NATO force as if it was just a British force which is absolutely not the case.
This was a tragic loss and very sad for all concerned, but at the same time a Nimrod could be lost on a training flight from Kinloss, so I think it unfair to just blame the Afghan campaign for this Nimrod crash, tragic though it is.
It’s just that we never seem to hear if French troops or German troops or any other troops die. That’s what got me wondering.

I like it at the end when that German gets executed by the American translator for shooting the Captain.

Saving private Ryan
on telly last night
The first twenty minuets totally astound me and do so the older i get,i like the way the characters eyes become more haunted as the film progressed .Also its shot on a different type of film to give it a grainy effect.
I saw that too. It reminds me of “Band of Brothers” (in terms of the graphical appearance). Brilliant film 😀 😀 😀 Mark 😀
