F-16 fighting falcons are the only plane who can protect national security 😀

Well, 70-1 should be more accurate :dev2:

70-1 along with AWACS, JPATS, jammers, yadayadayada…. :diablo:

All that article realy says is that at some point in the distant future Lockheed would like to sell the JSF to India, not that an offer is certain or imminant,
I find it rather funny how the US is using India to counter china so it dosnt have to.

I agree. It is just a business talk… Also India never asked US to enter into the JSF program

Burma would be one to watch out for. as i (if i was Chinese ) love to put missile on that side of India too, giving me reach to Diego Garcia

Why can India openly support taiwan like Chinese support for pak… enemy’s enemy is a friend…. that way India can get good support from US also..

No doubt about what you said.
What I said was that for India there are two main options – stick to its current status or become a first class US ally.
Both of these options offer great things for India, with the option to stand aside the US offering what you described above.

About India’s social problems – when I’m talking about India becoming a superpower, I mean not only by having a large and powerful army but also to reduce poverty to the minimum, developing the countrysides and developing science, academics and high tech.
As you said, economy and trade are the main keys for that – and that’s exactly what you’re doing now.

About the Green Pine and the Americans satellites – it depends how far you want to see. The Green Pine located in one of the Arrow batteries in Israel deteced to launches of the Syrian Scud missiles a while ago, in Syria’s northen border. That means a lot.

IMO US might be stressing to put some Green pines on the Chinese border also… We have to wait and see how china responds.. US is indirectly putting pressure on China by engaging both Japan and India.

Even the UK wont be getting half the things you are saying and their are atleast 2 BIG british companies i can think of working on small parts of the JSF and the F-22.

calm down with these wish lists its early days.. they have offered us the carrot wait for the stick! what do they want in return?

Going by the US Media reports, the returns are watching China with the technology US provides.. It is basically proxy work. Also to put some pressure on the indo-china border by building some sensors so the it eases some pressure on south china straits. Indians can also use these stuff to monitor Pak.

When the Navy Chief said he would like to have the JSF , I am sure there was something in his mind probably a hint by the US that they would willing to give India JSF may be with few technologies.
Lets see what comes up and how we are benifited , still early days.I too see no reasons for starting a new thread on this

Regarding the new thread, I disagree with u…. PM’s visit is historic one and it is not like any other visit before made by any leaders from Asia. We have a strong Indian lobby here in the name of Condy Rice.. She is the architect of this new relation with India and also the admin is now totally believe that India is next growing power both militarily and economically. IMO the possibilites are infinite.. You just wait and watch… more goodies to come… :diablo:

    Possibility of JSF co-development ?

Nothing much is known on Arrow-3 except for the fact that Israel is working on it, It was reported that the Barak-2 SAM(70 km) proposed to be jointly developed with India has few of the features of Arrow-3, Mostly has to do with Netcentric Capabilties.

If we go by the optimism in the US regarding India, I will not be surprised If US offers to add India in the JSF joint development. Based on the Nuclear agreement, we get the feeling that US is trying to bring India on par with other allies. So JSF is not out of question.

    US – India recent deal

I am starting a new thread because there are so much possibilities.. most of them are speculation… lets discuss who is getting what out of this deal. I am attaching some from US media

    From Washington post.

But Pentagon officials said they considered many of the potential sales, including anti-submarine patrol aircraft that could spot Chinese submarines in the Indian Ocean and Aegis radar for Indian destroyers operating in the strategic Straits of Malaka, as useful for monitoring the Chinese military.

Aegis – That will be a quantum leap in technology in the indian ocean region…

But the US need to give approval for its sale; and like the Phalcon AWACS, it too has some american patented technologies

    Stealth… doing great work…
