    We want the Arrow-2 with Citron tree.

    We rejected the PAC-3 and asked for the THAAD.

    Even our Akash is better than the basic Arrow-1 system and PAC-2

    Hello everyone,

    needed some information and also your views on how how different manufacturers and countries created propoganda fighters and/or hyped up planes which actually failed to deliver.

    I though it would be interesting to see how the taxpayers money has gone down the drain just for beuracratic pride

    I didn’t go to it this year.The line up didn’t look all that impressive,so me and my girlfriend are going to the NAS Oceania airshow in Sept for the final F-14 Demo.Should be lots of fun.

    I agree with u. The line up was not like the special one in 2003

    Cool pictures. I like the Prowler one especially.

    And I would have to agree, the Super Hornet does put on a very impressive aerial demonstration.

    Phantom, Did u see the F-22 demo fly-by on saturday.. Do u have pics… I missed it. 😡

    Superbug was impressive in the aerial performance… Also the static F-16 has both sidewinder (training) and AMRAAM (not sure whether live one or not)..

    Yes, You can take on 3 Mig-29s with M2k-5s… but what matters is the result.. even if you manage to shoot down two of those, still the remaining one will evaporate you… remember :dev2:

    IMO the whole discussion is hype.. If we talk in the ground level, then talk about one to one of M2k-5 with 29K…

    I mean the Chinese reverse engineered the Al-31FN to make the WS-10A.

    – I doubt that WS-10A has the same performance as Al-31. Also chinese employ lot of russian engineers to design and develop these systems.

    Question : How hard is reverse engineering an Engine ??

    – It is hard.. Designing an engine is one thing and manufacturing it and make it work is another thing… Manufacturing facilities are very critical.. IMO Advanced Materials which makes lot of difference.

    I would take 1 Mirage 2000 vs 3 Indian Mig-29 anyday of the week 🙂

    Statement is blunt… If you wanna argue then talk about scenario and versions, armament…. Making blunt statement will only result in flaming. 😡

    Based on my work experience, designing a jet engine from scratch is not an easy business… that why very few companies manufacture them… So I am not surprised by the time it is taking..

    IMO India should concentrate on particular systems like avionics and armament and import others mainly engine to put the LCA into service sooner.

    Take the example of Israel.. they are pioneers in UAVs and Avionics.. Like that India should concentrate on some areas where they should get so advanced even the US should think of buying from them..

    What makes me sick is that these guys live among us showing that they are ‘average joe’ but with a dark secret.

    Also we have to share some blame because we (civilised) created afghan ann vietnam wars just to make a political statement.. 😡 The offshoot of these two wars are they ones we are dealing with today..

    What makes me angry is that west only started to call these people ‘terrorists’ only after 9/11. Before that these people were killing innocent people in chechnya, afghanistan, kashmir and they are called ‘freedom fighters’…. 😡
