Is E-2C is required for India ?. I think they have Phalcons to do the AWACS job. Also E-2C is too big for Vikramaditya.
Jeesus. I was ironic in that post.
There’s is no way that prime minister Persson in Sweden, or verbundskansler Schroeder in Germany could break their export regulations (ie their law) without being prosecuted and thrown out of power. That’s the way a democratic country works.
Castor, Europe is not like US (bitchy about selling arms). So there is a possibility. Regarding export regulations – politics comes first than rules… In my opinion, french will sell anything for hard cash. So point here is whether PN can afford it or not.
Agosta will better serve PN because the PN is a defense navy. So unless they want to change their approach there is no need for another sub.
K-8 trainers – Are these basic trainers or AJT?.
Regarding F-16C/D, which block number are they?.
Thought that the links would answer them
Army version prototype ‘PTA’ (IA1101), first flight 28 May 1994
ATGM – Nag intended
Avionics – Telephonics radar, basic instruments
Nag – We havent heard of that one for long time. Russian or Israeli missile makes sense.. at least for the export market..
A rather simple question that has always boggled me. Why are the decks of their ship a reddish-brown color, most other countries seem to have a grey deck, even the PLAN.
So that it can be spotted by US satellites easily… :diablo:
Lets not forget the massacre of Pakistanis commited when Mr/s dostum took over Kabul….and their failure to protect Pak Embassy. These guys are next to or worse than OBL…..Pak is already being very generous by “considering thier “request”..why are we even discussing this? lol
Why are so many pakistanis in Kabul?. What are they doing there ?.
Presumably there are no plans to instal the Bars radar on the K’s because the IN won’t pay for them or don’t deem them necessary – I hardly think the Russians would take a decision like that. These days they’ll fit anything onto anything else if it’ll sell.
I read that IN wanted to fit Bars on its K’s.
Harry – why is Brahmos so special apart from a supersonic anti-ship missile / LO profile. Are there any equivalent in the western world?.
But some strange things r happening! China is v keen to buy Tu-22M in the nineties but was rejected. Now Russian is willing to sell Tu-22M and by right,a quick deal shall be stuck soon as China has showed interest not long ago!
Still nothing is reported from the Chinese side and Russia even has to resolve to use their Tu-22M in the coming Russia-Sino defence exercise to arouse Chinese interest to buy Tu-22M.Is China come up with something on their own or is because of the Tu-22M qualities problem that block the deal as Russia intend only to sell some of their Tu-22M3 in stock and not new production as production for Tu-22M3 has ended?
Why are chinese interested in a 20 yr old aircraft for their future needs ?.. to reverse engineer
Hey cinciboy! Ignore Harry. Afterall he is just an expert. You have terrific observation capacity. I have loads of information on photoshoped Brahmos. It will be usefull to exchange notes if you have any with you. You have no idea what these Indians photoshop and induct in their armed forces. I have too many facts. ๐ฎ
See when Indian MiG-21 takes of with a pilot, it actually flies and then crashes. Imagine it is used as a missile, then there is no pilot, hence it will automatically crash. The Mig-21 inlet is 2nd generation inlet, right? How can it perform supersonic? ๐ก
Brute
If Brahmos is a photoshop gimick then what about Yakhont?. Please post ur findings. I am more interested to read what u got. ๐
Well that changes the Mig 29s chances of winning that India contract for the better…
the MiG-29K will be equipped with Zhuk-ME radars and there are no plans for installing Bars-29 on these aircraft.
That is against the wishes of a potential customer ๐ฎ
http://www.acig.org/artman/publish/article_416.shtml
http://www.acig.org/artman/publish/article_227.shtmlIA-1101 to IA-1113… of the first sqn., don’t have the Israeli avionics package. Infact, only Z-3268 does. Further production Army models might.
Vanilla version costs Rs.40 crore. Price goes up greatly with the fancy avionics package.
The Indian Army’s operational trials of the type was the most stringent, with flights at temperatures ranging from 45ยฐ C to sub-zero at 19,000 ft.
What is the normal operating temp for a combat helicopter ?.
You are right. Its a secret Indian project to convert old Mig-21 and make it look like a Russian missile. Its a photoshop missile. Commeon, how it can be lo. It will crash before taking off. Sheesh! These Indians ๐
Brute – if missile inlet looks like Mig-21 inlet doesnt mean anything. As long as it do what it is intended for Indians dont care.
On what basis u are saying it will crash before taking off.
Photoshop missile ๐ – good observation for a brute gorilla.
I think $3+ mil for a barebones systems with analog instrumentations and cockpit and Indian avionics. The pricetag becomes $5+ mil for a IAI outfitted,, all glass cockpit and avionics, with other bells and whistles.
Not a bad price range for a 5 ton class helo.
Looks like a very good price. What about the armed versions…
From Aero India 2005 news –
HAL DHRUV For Tsunami Relief Operation
For the first time in the history of Indian Aviation, Indian made helicopters – HAL Dhruv – participated in relief operations. Hitherto in our history, no Indian aircraft or helicopter, designed and developed indigenously, has contributed to national relief work.
Dhruv, the Advanced Light Helicopter, indigenously designed & developed by HAL, has once again established its excellent operational capabilities. These helicopters are being extensively deployed by Indian Army & Coast Guard in Nagapatinam, Kumbakonam & Chennai for Tsunami relief operations.
The multi-role Dhruv helicopters are flying various missions to bring relief to the victims of the tragedy by moving medical teams, dropping medicines & food besides undertaking extensive aerial survey over the affected areas. This has reinforced the credibility of Dhruvs in the utility version.
The Dhruvs, through its wide range of civil applications, are providing enormous support to meet the mammoth challenge of Tsunami faced by the nation.
Hindustan Aeronautics Limited โ the Indian Aviation leader – came forward and donated Rs.3.40 Crs to the Prime Ministerโs Relief Funds. The cheque was handed over by Shri Ashok K Baweja, Chairman, HAL to the Prime Minister on the 1st of Jan 05, as a token of HALโs commitment to the nation.
