Hemus is replacing their Tu-134 with BAe146-200. Two are now flying. Third is expected to arrive soon.
BH air will cut its Tu-154M services by the end of the year. They are subsidary of Hemus, but are also the biggest charter airline in Bulgaria with 7 airplanes – three A320-200 and four Tu-154M. Their Tu-154M are one of the most beautiful 154, and I will miss them on the bulgarian airports.

Let me tell you some things about the Tu-154M.

Firstly, the most accidents with this type are caused by bad maintenance. This happens very oft in Russia(Aeroflot are leaders) and the countries from CIS. Reason – not much money. The bulgarian aicrafts from that type are maintained much better.

What is more, the Tu-154M provides much more pleasent flight than the B737-300/400/500 for example. This is caused by the “soft wing”. If you have flown both types, than you will be able to compare.

Furthermore, the bulgarian Tu-154M are prodced between 1988 and 1992. The most european B737 classics are produced before 1988.

When I was 2 months old – Sofia-Varna and some weeks later Varna-Sofia. It has been a Tu-134. But as you can quess I can’t remember anything. After that, when I was 14 years old I flew LZ-BOF, Balkan airlines Boeing 737-300 from Sofia to Frankfurt.

You said Airbus Deutschland and LH Tehnik. And where is the EADS in the whole operation or you mean Airbus and EADS as one?

I am from Bulgaria. I have hunrdreds of pictures from Varna and Sofia aiports. LZ-BOJ is on lease from CITairspace. It came at the beginning of June 03 and the contract is for one year with opportunity for making it longer. Bravo Oscar Juliet made flights from VAR/LBWN the whole summer. After that it came to Sofia and is now making regular flights from there. The Bulgaria air fleet contains 3 B737-300(2 from LH) and one B737-500(on lease from LH). Please write me if you are interested in Bulgarian planes or if you have any photos.

Here is the first picture of the PC-12M. It was delivered just 3 weeks after it was ordered. The site is the new Bulgarian plane database and the photographer is my friend, Alexander Mladenov:
