Although i’ve not heard of it being active recently, there’s the ex RAN Sea Venom in the US.

Just a heads up to say that the Tower Museum at Bassingbourn is open again tomorrow (bank holiday Monday) from 10am.
Rob
Cheers Baz. The airfield is remarkably intact all things considered, apart from of course the main runway which is now almost completely broken up and being returned to farmland. This photo is from between hangars 2 and 3 – showing both watch towers and looking towards the main runway.

Not for me to say, although as reported elsewhere i can say that two of the hangars and the original control tower have been purchased by a company who intend to restore and use the tower as their offices, and are also very keen on the idea of the memorial.
The later control tower is a grade 2 listed building.

During a visit i tried to find whereabouts at West Raynham this bizarre incident took place. Although its difficult to tell because of a lack of background detail this looked as likely a spot as any – down near hangar 4 which it has been suggested is where they were based.
Rob
Impressive looking cockpit. Thanks for posting.

Apparently been confirmed elsewhere that a VC-10 has been acquired by the collection and will be flown in.

Nice series of photos, Mr B_2.

That’ll be the rear fuselage of VZ795, James, last seen in Norfolk several years ago.
Although reputed to of been scrapped I’d love to know if it survived anywhere.
Rob
Hey that looks familiar , and i admire your optimism David. But one step at a time 😀
Rob
Thanks for the comments Martin.
Rob
Very nice Mark, although i think i’ll continue to throw my pennies at the real thing 😉
Rob
No info I’m afraid but I’d definitely be interested in buying a copy when its finished.

What a beautiful looking aeroplane that is.
And in my mind Bristol aero engines contributed to two of the best sounding engine notes ever, namely thr Sea Fury and Gladiator.
