Just got home after a good weekend at the Cockpitfest. And a big thank you to Bill, Howard and the Newark team for all their hard work in putting on such an excellent event as always. I thought public visitor numbers seemed to be slightly down on last year but hey ho.

Highlights are always difficult due to the quality of cockpits and display items but for me a favourite was the Gannet procedures cockpit. Reducing its size really does now make so much sense as its now possible to see inside a Gannet without first taking a crash course in mountaineering. Well done guys !

Also good to meet so many forumites and put some faces to names 🙂

Another museum on my ‘to do list’. Quite poignant to see a Varsity there, especially in those colours and so close to the actual airport where G-BDFT took off on her last flight.
