There are a few ladies that are on the forum from time to time, though greatly out numbered.
Bronco in France? Did a little googleing and this is what popped, so there is at least one airworthy in-country.
“Jean-Loup Cardey (jlcardey@club-internet.fr)
Jean-Loup Cardey is one of the pilots of the only Bronco in flying condition in France, based at Montélimar with “Amicale des Avions Anciens de la Drôme”.

Hmmmm, looks like it was in Hucknall in “04….see attached link
Fond a website with some info

However, all Tempests operated by the RAF in India were ‘officially’ handed over to the RIAF on 25 Sep 47 and received serials in the ‘HA—“series by early 1948. These numbered 159, including three, PR 548, 804 & 836 transferred in ‘written-off’ condition. 35 of these were handed over to the PAF along with No 1 and 9 Squadrons IAF on 25 Sep 1947. The RIAF received a further 89 Tempests refurbished by Hawker from RAF stocks of 113 held at 20 MU in May 1948 (the remaining 24 were sold to Pakistan). Once the Tempest II was withdrawn from RAF service, India was able to procure 20 more aircraft from RAF MUs which were delivered in two batches from 09 Jul 1951 (12) and 29 Aug 1951 (08) PR 834 becoming the last of 233 Tempest IIs delivered to India of a total 452 produced.
Slap 3 bazooka mock-ups under each wing, call her a “Panzer Buster” complete with pyrotechnics and make it a hit at the show! Or you can “dogfight” a Storch. With enough wind across the airfield you could fly backwards too. My uncle flew one in North Africa, he caught the plane bug from it and never did stop flying!
But will he get a ticket for speeding or improper lane changing?!? In a hurry to get to Oshkosh!
Well done landing! the plane was a bit dented by a roadsign, but it could have been so much worse so easily. We had a Cessna set down on a road near here. it is startling to see a plane on the side of the road while driving to work, let alone dropping down into traffic!!!
“Let’s see, that was lefty loosy, righty tighty??”
What we need is a lawyer that knows the whole regestration/trademark law thing. Is the RAF still attempting to charge anyone who used their roundel? These are wide ranging issues that impact the whole of the historic aviation field. Does one have to have permission to publish the image of an aircraft? Must the RAF get a cut if a roundel is placed on an aircraft? A picture Published? A piece of art done? A toy/model made?
This sounds like the making for an ugly can of worms in which only the lawyers come out on top!
Very nice profiles. Love the weathering and coloration.
Might want to take a second look at the landing gear leg. Looks a bit thin in diameter and most photos I have seen, the exposed hydraulic slip area(the shiny part) is a bit lower on the leg, behind the wheel, and a little triangular linkage bit that attaches just above that joint is missing.
Love that first shot! Wow! How close did they let people get?
Don’t blame them for not coming into Florida. Coming in either dead stick or piggyback, the weather has been a bit dicey. Crosswinds, turbulence, possible hail?? I think I would divert as well. No need to take extra chances.
Big fires around mountains create VERY dangerous winds. Very unpredictable. Indeed great flying to get out of a very HOT spot.
Finally downloaded and watched the film. Great job guys! Caused me to get off my duff and finish a project I had started a ways back. I did not see any references to the reengined 3-bladed props they played with. I was hoping to get some more background on those field mods.

I’m fighting this with my own camera so I will take a stab at it. The Camera, depending on just which “AUTO” setting it is on is just doing its best to make sure you are not getting a blurry shot. As the light level drops, either the shutter speed has to drop, thus treatening to get motion blur from either the camera moving or the subject moving, or it has to bump up the “ISO” or the sensitivity of the CCD-light collector thingie and opening up the aperture to let more light in.
The camera’s settings got you your shots, granted a bit grainy. If you choose to go with manual settings, and I have no idea of what your camera allows, but if you can set your shutter speed to the slowest you can hold it to while tracking the A/C and let the camera adjust the other settings on the fly, you may get better shots with less grain, or you may get blurred shots. Experiment with it, play with it. find out your best settings for conditions. Shoot moving cars in low light, it’s good practice and you are not missing those rare A/C shots!
Don’t know if any of this helps, but in case of last resort, read the instruction book:D
Anyone else out there “scratch building”? Here is my hangar full so far, guess I’m going to need a bigger hangar!
There was a wargame done at one of the Military Academies that reran Pearl Harbor giving the fleet an hours warning, as if the Japanese Embasy had delivered the declaration on time. Giving the fact that the USN carriers out of range, the mostly obsolete USN fleet steaming out would have led to 3-4 times the casualties to the USN. The air assets of Pearl would also have been wiped out with much higher loss of pilots and crew. I will look for that study and see if I can find a link.
