Here is what I found on a quick search
27774 for period 1945/47 (at least) based in Italy and used as
VIP transport by RAF Mediterranean/Middle East Communications Sqn (still
with USAAF identity).
found at this USAF, USAAC, USAAS, USAAF serial # serch site, first time I’ve used this site, so I have no idea of the accuracy, but they have lots of data collected.
Here is a link to 3-view drawings of the Printice, looks like someones scan out of probably one of the afore mentioned articles. They aren’t great but are a start.

Might check and see if there are boating charts available for the area that may list known obstructions/wrecks? A GPS position would bu much better though!
Depends on the level of detail you need, but here is a kit to build one yourself for $90(US), hmmm, might need to mount a couple of those on teh hood of my car!:D
If your shows’ budget allows it, a trip down to the Sunderland in exhibit at the Hendon Museum would be nice to get a feel for the massive size of the Sunderland (I’ve been on the Sunderland at Kermit Week’s eshibit in FL).
I wish you luck with your expedition! Be Safe.
Nice shots. Now if we can just get someone to paint the shiney white helmets to look like leather or canvas……it just spoils the whole look:eek:
Looks like it was a beautiful day for flying and shooting!
I prefer the prop blur like that, though with the slower shutter speed the threat of an “unsharp” image rears it’s ugly head. Great shot in my book!
I would think the wheel stands would be best, just take the bulk of the weight off the tires. Test drove a car, that had sat in a garage for a year, for a friend looking to buy it. The thing went thump, thump, thump down the road. Flat spotted the tires. They bought the car and after a few cycles of heating them up the lumps mostly went away. Rubber does have a memory!
Here is Upavon, still a working airfield
SE of Upavon Village, south of A342
Here is what I can see of Larkhill, it is the White roofed hangars on Wood Road, SE corner of the Larkhill settlement,
Recently helped clean out a PC that had been sharing it’s space with a bird cage……..NOT RECOMENDED!!!
Don’t want to do that again:eek:
Note to self, “Don’t hang bird cage near computer”
Some dog hair as well…What a mess, wonder why it kept crashing!?!?!
Believe vids are available at http://shopping.discovery.com/?jzid=40588004-27-0
though I think you can download some bits of videos at http://dsc.discovery.com/
Wow, soon to be flying? Is there such a thing as “Just another Spit project?”
here is a link to their web site
Yes, I’ve noticed that enlarging is really never the best option.
It IS better to get the picture shot right than to try to “process” the right image……I try not to “enlarge” files by a large percentage unless i am doing some drastic reworking to it. My 42″ printer shows every little artifact!
I just need a better, longer lens for my Canon:eek:
Just have to figure out how to justify it!!
