Will the Duxford Beaufighter have the bulge on the nose like Mk 21’s? I think the cockpit is from a 21, not sure though. Also, anyone know when the nose will be put on the fuselage, and when the first flight is expected?

It’s gotta be one of those things they use to hold aircraft wings down so in a storm or heavy winds the wing doesn’t fly off, they do it at aviation museums e.t.c

True, i’d love to see a large building with just three aircraft in it – Vulcan, Victor and Valiant, imagine that, all facing towards the centre, set back far enough so you can see the aircraft well, Valiant in early all-white paint, Vulcan in camouflage with white undersides, and Victor in gulf war colours, the three V bombers in the colours they wore during the three stages of their lives…. ahhh i can dream

It could be good though, the milestones of flight at Hendon seems very cluttered overall but you get good views of the aircraft and good photos of the aircraft, hopefully ‘Divided World’ will be like this. Same goes for airspace at Duxford, funny how all the major museums decide to make new buildings with big planes on the floor and less interesting smaller aircraft hanging from the ceiling like models

I did not know RAF Cosford had any H.A.S on the base. I have read somewhere that that Soviets and USA to be represented in new building.

It’s on the other side of the runway from the museum side, theres an Andover outside it (or at least there was)

Can’t wait until that Breighton Merlin 109 is finished 😀 too bad it isn’t a real 109, together with a spit or hurricane would make one heck of a display

Wherever it is, i hope its possible to get a decent view at the thing, its the only one in Britain thats on display (or will be on display, its currently in a HAS on the RAF part of Cosford), there is the one at Cov thats closer but i don’t think Air Atlantique have open days…. damn, i’d love a look around a twin pin

Strange, the layout seems to be different, looks good though. The javelin appears to be either in an almost vertical climbing or diving position, and the twin pioneer seems to have disspeared completely! Unless they’re planning to put it in a hangar

The Belfast will but unfortunately the Argosy won’t be, as you can see from the attached pic of the plan of the museum. Sorry its so small, it was from the RAF museum website. The belfast is on the left hand side wing of the new building, and the V bombers on the right side, hopefully if theres a high enough viewing gallery it should be possibly to get a decent pic of the Valiant. I think i can make out the twin pioneer underneath the starboard wing of the Valiant, when i zoom in on the pic.

True, it could have been the MP-40 Schmeisser, they had a 32 mag capacity and were 9-mm, and of course being a machine pistol would fire off very quick
