I’d choose Hendon, but you said you’d then to to FAA at half term.
I was at Hendon a couple of weeks ago and bother the Sunderland and Graham White Hangar were shut. Not sure why Sunderland was closed off, but GWH is only open on busy days.
As you are going on an odd day, I’d suggest going to FAA tomorrow and Hendon at half-term, when there’s more chance of GWH being open and they always seem to events for school holidays
GWH open 10-12 EVERY day in my experience, on busy days and dead days!
I’d go for RAF Museum myself – there’s two flying simulators you could go on which would probably cost you much less than the entrance for the FAAM, as well as the Battle of Britain experience, Sunderland walk-through, Dambusters video bit, as well as the interactive screen displays including videos and quizzes in the Milestones building, the Helicopter area, the newly revamped area around the Sunderland and Walrus, and also I believe around the ‘Wings over Water’ bit. Plus Hannants model shop is just next door too!
“Beware giant skeleton Blenheim jockeys”
According to my good friend Mr Babelfish, it translates as
“The enemy sees your light”
Apparently ‘Verdunkeln’ means ‘collude’, which for those what not be good at English, means ‘To act together secretly to achieve a fraudulent, illegal, or deceitful purpose; conspire’ – not quite sure how that fits in with the poster, unless it’s a mistranslation and it should mean to do the same as others and keep the lights out/covered up
Fantastic, just the ticket – cheers!
Last time I was at the RAF Museum there were plans on display for three British pre-WW2 civilian aircraft arranged together in Milestones, IIRC it was a Miles aircraft, the Mew Gull, and, I believe, the Moth
Fantastic – there’s also a Miles going into ‘Miles’tones too! Didn’t know it was put in so soon, i’ll have to nip down tomorrow. There’s a few more of the excellent mannequins under build to complement the displays too

Premiered last night – news report with some clips
More information;
Just got the e-mail too, great news and looking forward to hopefully working with them again!
And there was me thinking you blew into one end then let it go 😀
I think the walk is pretty short myself, although then again I live bang on halfway between the tube station and the museum so it probably doesn’t seem as far for me. The 303 bus goes past the entrance of the museum and the stop is outside the tube station, however it probably takes longer than walking as it goes on a magical mystery tour around the very scary council estate first!
Yep, the Battle of Britain experience is still a part of RAFM Hendon. One word of advice if visiting there from someone that lives right next to it (in fact if you go there via public transport you’ll walk past my house) – be very wary at night, and no one pays attention to the highway code, especially at pedestrian crossings!
Someone almost won the Darwin award this year!
Do we even have enough soldiers for each supermarket in the UK?!
