Didn’t the Hong Kong media say something about this? Something about how this engine was supposed to make an appearance at the airshow? Or did they get that wrong?

I asked if the TVC on the J-10B have a multi axes movement or only a two directional movement.

The new engine powering the J-10B performing the flight demonstration is said to be the

    WS10B3 – 3D TVC, 142KN thrust and stealthy nozzles.

They are apparently already equipping newly built J-20s with this new engine, but its not clear how many aircraft have been equipped.

WS-15 has never powered the J-20. WS-15 is still years away.

That is correct. There is too much fake news about China. According to the fake news everything is catching fire, everything is crashing, everything is a failure etc.

There has not been any real news about the WS-15 engine. Currently the J-20 is flying with the same 122KN thrust Al-31F variant. Their engine sector lags behind their other sectors so they usually use older, established engines like the Al-31F first before upgrading to domestic engines.

They are currently integrating the 142KN thrust WS-10B with the J-20. The 142KN WS-10B is expected to be the interim engine for the J-20.

The 180KN thrust WS-15 is an all-new next-generation engine. It is a highly ambitious project and its not surprising that its taking time.

Deino does make a fair point. That is supposed Russia’s best on offer and its build quality looks really crap. Its not some old model. That is Russia’s latest on the market and it looks really bad.

Is it possible that the Russians may have sold them the technical design data of the Mig 1.44 ? We know that the J-10 bears a strong Lavi influences, the Z-10 received design help from Kamov. Could the J-20 design have some Russian influence ?

Look carefully. The Mig1.44 and J-20 are two completely different aircraft. A lot of people are fooled by the general layout. But look more carefully.

After the Hongdu L-15 achieved its first export customer, we are now hearing that the L-15’s domestic designation may be the JL-10.

China’s new C919 airliner has sold 380 aircraft and achieved financial breakeven.

By Alison Leung and Tim Hepher

    ZHUHAI, China | Tue Nov 13, 2012 5:11am EST

ZHUHAI, China (Reuters) – Potentially worth several billion dollars, the orders for China’s first commercial passenger jet dominated the first day of the China Airshow, held every two years in the southern city of Zhuhai, along with fresh evidence of China’s military ambitions.

The C919 is designed to challenge Airbus (EAD.PA) and Boeing (BA.N) in the largest segment of the $100 billion annual jetliner market.

Tuesday’s orders for the 150-seat jet boosted the official tally to 380, reaching the state-owned manufacturer’s declared breakeven point of 300-400 orders.
