Correct, the Argonaut was a Canadair built DC-4 with Merlin engines.

Some were…the C-54GM/DC 4M-1 (RCAF) was and some surpluss DC 4 componants were used.. The Canadair C-4/DC 4M-2 (TCA,CPA,BOAC) was a pressurised version using a shortened re engineered DC 6 fuselage to which the DC 4 empenange and nose were added.. Very much a hybrid. The whole aircraft was re engineered rather than just a Merlin powered DC 4 built in Canada.

There is an ex Aer Lingus regional ATR.42 (EI-REL) now in this livery, well one report dated 27th saying it is to be painted and another saying in the hanger 23-28 for painting and given that was reported on the 29th I assume it is out…if not soon will be.

I think I might start a stall up the airpot seeing heavy duty sunglasses, the ones used for looking directly at the Sun:rolleyes:

Deano…I’m told on another forum the E-170’s will be painted???

There are a load of NG orders that surely will not be built now. So, how many of these are actually replacement orders for the NG’s that as it stood would have been delivered after the Max was in service.

Also G-WIZZ and that has been used unofficially on grounded aircraft, the first case being the cabin trainer at Rhoose that was once G-ANRS.

I guess they just want to get it in service. It’s been due a while and it’s May now.

Not uncommon for painting to take a back seat this time of year.

It’s all new, not the re release of the Itareli kit they have used in recent years to repace their own ancient offering

It will be released in two version, miltary and civil.

The civil is to be in Dan Air-London livery

    Military with a jeep

The -500 fuse is close but not exactly the same length as a -200. The -500 is 1 foot 7 inches longer

I don’t think the fin is the same so just adding a dorsal to a 200 fuse would be totally incorrect.

I guess the wing root fairings would be very different to.

Would it have needed to be repaired to that standard if flying for parting out

maybe flown unpressurised it could have been positioned with minimal work

I would think this is at Norwich for finishing.

The number of owners is irrelavent. It is the standard of maintenance that is crucial meaning a machine with 16 owners, or more likely operators, on short terms could be in better shape than one that has flown with the original owner for 15/16 years. many changes of operator has probably meant more than the normal overhauls as it’s checked between assignment.
