I guess the guy felt it sounded like a single engine aircraft diving at speed rather than an normal flyover…but it is wrong to report such statements as they do nothing for impartial news reporting.
Most news nowadays seems to be biased from the stations point of view and that is something that should be stopped.
I really feel for the family of the lost pilot and this sort of “entertainment” reporting must only make their pain worse.
My condolences to his family.
Ah yes …. the scenic route.
Now and then you get oddities…like Eastern Bloc flights to Germany or similar appearing south of Cornwall or Ireland the disappearing as is for a time degrees E is showing as degrees west
Maybe a contributers computer is playing up
These thing happen on sites like this, always have and I just ignore them even when, on some day there are a lot of this sort of thing.
Things go wrong, get fixed and move on
Best not to take FR24 as gospel
See something, look up and confirm a match.
Just the other day an aircraft appeared overhead that wasn’t there and remained there for over an hour.
Thanks for that
I notice a couple of days running GSS/BA Boeing 747-8F on CDG-JFK-CDG flights…not something I expect and not seen until recently.
Corrosion is also an issue. ZA150 retired yesterday to Dunsfold has some quite advance corrosion that needs addressing long term for preservation.
The type has done well and I doubt when designed it was ever considered it would live this long.
Wonderful piece of engineering.
Lufthansa was the launch customer for the Boeing 737 and that was a whole new aeroplane not a sub variant, so not that strange.
Surely to stretch a 5 abreast to 757ish capacity would produce a fuse too long to take off due to tail strike clearance.
Would need longer gear legs then…impracticle I would have thought and I wonder how strong such a long tube would be.???
it’s not an obvious identity…not like it say the airlines name or has a definitive logo.
Just a few qite arrows on red means nothing to many
No point in taking it out of service to get a repaint which it may well be due for sometime soon.
Busy summer season.
Years ago when Air UK were repainting their Friendships from the Blue plane to flag livery they painted them as quickly as possible but then hit the summer with just one left to paint. It flew the while summer in the old livery.
Downtime is costly.
Matt…three or four years ago they would have covered it up…they were doing that on this sort of incident in the 1950’s even
The is an A.380 biz jet.
One of the earliest, it has been getting fitted out for sometime now for an Arab who has recently died. It remains to be seen what happens now.
There are still some routes where four engine is require but most of the 4 engine fleets would be retired overnight if it were possible
Airliner takes time to build and they of course have to be paid for but a lot of the fours are being replaced as soon as they can
In the future there will just be relatively small fleets of four engined
As to the KLM retirement of the MD-11…well over due
Air France, QANTAS, Lufthansa, Malaysian all have more white.
The pic in the OP is not a good one to be judging the livery as the aircraft is over exposed and bleached.
Just glad they didn’t keep the ghastly grey Landor livery which folks seem to forget how dull that grey was especially when fresh.
The banks should do what the Government often does…just ignore Brussels.
It was supposed to be a Common Market, not a United States of Europe dictating to the members.

I’ve been there a couple of times…came back from the brink.
Not bothered about it.
The Surgeon told me the other day in reference to my on going problems that I should have been six feet under four years ago, but it doesn’t faze me.
I’m here at the moment and that’s all that concerns me, although on balance, the way I have been left with health issues and lack of support I often feel it would have been better had I not come back.
I do not believe there is anything else…gone and that’s it.
