Wasn’t there an Ouragan as Gate Guardian at Abbeville? Or is it long, long gone?

Lovely pictures of the SPAD Duxman. Thanks for posting.

Nice pictures. Different (but interesting) parade of aircraft and lovely cars. No better way of spending a weekend.
Thanks for posting.

Wonderful pictures as ever Yak. Loved the Austers, etc. especially the Airdale. Thought they had all disappeared. Seafire looks stunning! Thanks for posting.

Great pictures. I particularly liked the pics of the Delfin in the rain! Also the vintage light sport aircraft from last week.
Thanks for continuing to post Yak Rider

Yes, Aeronca 100 ZK-AMW ex VH-UXV, VQ-FAJ
I posted coverage on it elsewhere in this forum.
Thanks. OK now I remember, just didn’t make the connection.
Bill
Nice recent pics of AQZ. Thanks for posting them. Without wishing to contaminate this thread! but is that an Aeronca C2/C3/100 poking its nose into the RH frame of one of the pics?

Deep storage generally means just that – look at the Ventura which was acquired in 1984
Thanks for that Dave. A very interesting thread.
Bill
Roborough -sounds very much like a Valetta! There is one stored at Cosford.
Yep! I thought it was just the fuselage in “Deep Storage” Does anything actually emerge from deep storage or is it a euphemism for ‘on the way to the fire dump’
I don’t want to sound unduly critical of the RAFM. The have done something’s really well like building up and displaying the collection of WW1 exhibits but they have been sadly neglectful in many areas. In my opinion the Halifax SHOULD have been restored, as that was obviously the original intention. Other museums have done much better with a fraction of the budget of the RAF Museum.
Bill
Returning to the question posed by the OP: I would like to propose an aircraft that entered RAF service in the immediate Post war (WW2) period and served for the next 20 years or so as Transport; Para drop; VIP; Flying classroom; reconaisance; and possibly light bombing and Aerial Shouting platform. It served in all theatres and in virtually every conflict involving the RAF during 1948-70 period. The RAF received about 250 and there is I believe only one complete survivor, displayed, but NOT by the RAFM
So, what is it and why isn’t there one at Hendon or Cosford?

Bill -there are a few Jaguars around -some drawings -the RAFM has a wing on display at the Midland Air Museum with another in store . So yes it would be possible.
Thankyou David. Just seems like a neat idea. A Siskin recreation (wooden fuselage variant) similar to say the Dolphin that the RAFM produced, using whatever authentic parts available. Shouldn’t be too difficult and would fill a significant ‘hole’ in the RAFM collection
Bill
Does anyone know if it would be possible to build a good Siskin reproduction? Are there sufficient drawings and a Jaguar available? The Siskin also had a fairly long career with the RCAF so a joint project with the RAFM/CASM would be really worthwhile.
I believe that the only complete Armstrong Siddeley design preserved anywhere is Cosford’s Argosy. For a company that produced aircraft from ww1 to the 60’s that’s shameful!
Bill
Returning to the OP’s original question: The Canadian Aviation & Space Museum in Ottawa lists a Perseus X in its list of ‘Aircraft Powerplants’. I’m not sure if this this list is current, and I’ve never seen it or a picture of it.
