Hi Graham,
I would suggest that the numbers read “Model 86AB-54”, fitted to a Fairchild UC-61K (Argus III) with a 200hp Ranger engine. One of my favourite aeroplanes.:)
Best regards,
Paul

I’ve noticed the same thing with prop hubs for ADC Cirrus engines. Someone must be eating them!
Ok, Wag-Aero Sport Trainer?:)
My apologies to Mick Raftery for “stealing” these pics from his post at adf-messageboard….

Taken by Mick Raftery in August last year. The engines sitting in the airframe are only to assist with setting up the exhaust system, plumbing, cowls, etc. I have been following this resto for many years. Ralph Cusack and his team have been doing a great job bringing this historic aeroplane back to life. With Ron Lee now on board, the pace is accelerating and I look forward to seeing it take to the skies again.:)
An L-4, seeing so many were left in Europe after the war?
Try this link to the restoration website….:)
C’est magnifique! A real credit to The Memorial Flight Association guys!:)
Hi All,
It’s been a little while since the last post, but I have been waiting patiently for a couple of things to appear. First of all, about a fortnight ago, a long awaited shipment of spruce arrived for the Mk III fuselage and two sets of spars for tailplanes and elevators. When the humidity here drops to acceptable levels, I’ll be able to have a gluing frenzy! 🙂
Secondly, yesterday I was able to pick up a large crate with no less than four Cirrus engines, of varying degrees of completeness, inside.:D
Out of these I should be able to build one airworthy engine and have a good supply of spare parts.
Here is the crate on the back of a borrowed ute….

…and unpacked and placed on shelving in the “toy box”.:)

Unfortunately, there were no prop hubs in this lot, so if anyone out there has leads on one, I would love to hear from you.
I am still looking for magneto switches, airspeed indicators, 0-60 psi oil pressure gauges and a set of Canadian Tigermoth wheels and brakes.
Best regards,
Paul
Hi AA,
What engine is fitted to the Pou?
Best regards,
Paul
Ooo Ooo! I got one!:D
I’m afraid I’ll have to declare an open house….
Gloster Gladiator?
G’Day Tony,
I can email the drawings to you tomorrow, as I will need to scan them on an A3 size scanner at work.:)
Unfortunately, there are no dimensions on the drawings I have, but the handle appears to be bent to 90 degrees and the length, you might be able to take a SWAG (extrapolate in polite speak…:D)
Best regards,
Paul

Close, but no banana…..
G’Day Tony,
I’ve just had a flick through the stuff I’ve got and it looks like you need drawing 30050 Sheet 17.
I have got Sheet 14G for the mounting of the pump and Sheet 16H for run of the cables for chassis lock control, if you are interested. Don’t have Sheet 17, unfortunately.
Best regards,
Paul
