    OPTICA

    Newforest-:
G-BOPO was registed in Spain as the following -:
Aircraft type -: FLS Eadgley OA7 Optica
    Reg`n Date 20/4/1994
    Canx Date ../04/1997
Owner -: Helisureste Helicopteros delSureste SA
(Op.For Sefobasa 94) TAS -: Transportes Aereos del sur SA.
    Test reg`n EC-435 then EC-FVM
When it arrived at North Weald it still carried the EC- marks on the underside of the wing and on the tail booms.

    Optica`s

There are two Optica`s both complete awaiting the engines to be refitted at North Weald at the present time,i believe that engineering work upto and including test flights will be carried out by NWFS.
They are G-BMPL c/n 016 in FLS house colours and G-BOPO c/n 021 in an all white colour sceme, still with the Spanish flag on the tail.
There is also the incomplete and never finished G-BOPR c/n 023,still in green primer, also afew boxes of bits stored in the hangar.
If i remember rightly all the jigs that were at NW went to Wales ? with the idea of restarting production, but that was a couple of years ago now, nothing came of that.

If you consider coming to Stansted i can put you in touch with the people at North Weald,(EGSX),which is only appox 8 miles from EGSS,a fantastic historical airfield well worth a visit.

Elmo you are correct in both cases.
Ace`s B-25 N1042B had the panoramic nose removed before it was delivered back to the States. The afore mentioned nose is still at NW, stored in one of the hangars.

    Glacier Girl

Is it true that “Glacier Girl” is coming to the UK for the summer.
If so will this be the longest delivery flight in history (timewise) 62years? to complete.

    Lumberer into Stansted

The only four engined aircraft to visit Stansted in the last few months have been AN.12`s,the AN.22 was in only once last year, but was due in today .
