Having read a large number of comments on this thread it would really be pointless adding much more, that said, to clarify one thing. The HLF was approached to secure funding to aid the restoration of XH558, not to fund it’s continued existence; that is the job of the VTS team & that would have been in their original business plan when they went to the HLF.

I have in the past made small donations to the project but I have yet to see 558 fly, she went tech at Waddo in 2008. The appalling fiasco in 2009 again at Waddo & she went tech at Yeovilton in 2009. So I’ve seen a hat-trick of failings for 558 and they (VTS) want to know why people are starting to back off with donations.

    All IMHO

    Hi Terry,
Many thanks indeed, that’s exactly what I was looking for. May I ask, do you have any info for one showing as green, I have one but the label has come off so there’s no details at all on it.

    Thanks again
    Cheers

    Hi Terry,

Many thanks indeed and yes your right, a lot depends of what Mod state the panel is at for what fit-out it has. At least it’s a starting point.

    Kind regards

Strange how my personal opinion becomes ‘an exercise ‘ . If your happy with a charitable trust (VTTST) who rely on public help, support and funds to behave this way then fine unfortunately I do not hence my support for the original post

It seems quite simple really VTTST purchase the CDT from the BAPC then leave it at AeroVenture for almost 4 year’s paying nothing to the museum for the privilege Then they arrange for it to go to Scampton without offering the museum first refusal or even having the decency to tell AV of its plans So I’m sorry but naming and shaming (IMHO) the VTTST for their appalling treatment of AV while the museum has helped to save /store the CDT.

    Hi All,

I’m looking for two Rad Alt’s (pic below) to put in to my Puma panel. I don’t have any details about them but I’m guessing they could be French but I’m happy to be corrected. The question is, does anyone have or know of two going spare.

    Hi All,

I don’t know any dates etc but Lysanders where built at the Ministry of Aircraft Production (MAP) hangar on the same site as RAF Doncaster. The MAP hangar was were Asda is now (approx). As I understand it, it was also a repair facility for Wellington bombers.

    Hope it helps
