It is sad that we don’t have a mossie flying today, but what a great video. This was a true joy to see. Thanks for posting it and for all the others who have given some interesting additional info about Strathallan and RS712.
A good forum tread!

Thanks for the positive Feedback.
Yes TT. The Fury is still airworthy and made it’s last flight th 2003.
And to Arm Waver; I knew you would spot the Viima. Yes, she looks great now. We nicely cleaned this machine recently. Not a spot of dirt remains on the fuselage of this plane.

Stieglitz
Yes Cees, that visit to Oslo was a great experience. It was nice to meet you. 🙂

And the last rare bird was the unique airworty Valtion Viima which last flew in 2004 and made it’s only public appearance since then.

Our team was very happy to see many spotters on the occassion and we may repeat this event next year. We also think about flying some of our machines then.

One from the Furys office:

Another rare view at the occasion was this Hawker Fury G-BKBB which made it’s first public appearance in Belgium in more than 10 years.

The Fury was moved to another hanger today to clean it and do the required maintenance work to keep this machine airworthy. It will not be flown in the near future, but there may be some engine tests during the maintenance program.

It felt good to see this plane outside the hangar. 🙂
That Stearman is Stearman G-AZLE Serial Number 75-8543. It still flies in the UK but it is currently painted in a yellow navy sheme.

and a Yak-11 😮 .
Welcome to the forum Alex. Do you know Which yak 11 is planned to attend at Eindhoven?
Greets,
Stieglitz
Is it leaving for france? I wonder who the new owner is. I’m very happy to notice such a nice machine will stay in europe.
Thanks for sharing Stringbag.

It is sad to see the lack of moral respect of this ‘individuals’. Very sad.
Stieglitz
Thanks for the advice Ollie, I’ll remember that with my restorations.
It’s always nice to learn such interesting stuff.
And just for the record, I don’t care how long it takes to complete this job. We all know it takes a lot of work, time and enthousiasm to complete such a project. So any enthoust will gladly wait. 🙂
I am just so glad that HAC is busy with such a historic important projects (Hawker biplanes,…).
So I still hope we may get some news from this project. Even a little progress is still great news.

Stieglitz
That Betty is reported to be a G4M1 Type 1 “Betty” Model 11 now with the Planes of Fame Museum. A previous owner was the Museum of Flying. But I can’t find any info about it’s serial.
