Yes, it is planned that the Lysander will fly again, but much hard work needs to be done. I spoke with some people of The Sabena Oldtimers who own the Lysander.

They will restore their Lysander back to airworthy condition in the future. But first, they are restoring a second Lysander for static display for the royal museum of the the military airforce in Brussels. The money that the museum pays to the Sabena Oldtimers will be used to restore theire own Lysander to airworthy condition. This might take some years to complete.

The Lodestar is still owned by the team, but all the attention goes to the Lysanders for now. They will attempt to finish these two projects before their attention will go to the Lodestar. So, have patience!:)

I saw a spitfire for the first time in in the summer of 1990. This was at the airfield of Kortrijk-Wevelgem in Belgium. I was only 9 years old at that time.

That day, the OFMC simulated a dogfight with there spit MH434 and the Buchon (G-BOML).
For me, as a boy of 9 years old, this was a mayor experience. After all, having the honour te see a flying spit is always a heavenly experience!:)

Seems such a silly mistake especially as they have direct access with the full size restoration.

Perhaps someone should tell them that their virtual merlin is gonna boil! :p :p

I have send a mail to let Aeroplane Heaven know about your deepest concerns:D ๐Ÿ˜€ .

    This was the reply:

    Hello

The sim model that you refer to is being built in such a way that the
outer areas ( the easiest areas of the spitfire ) are to be done last.
The HFL blokes are looking at the model with a fine toothed comb and
pointing out little discrepancies. The sim version is going to be
exactly the same as the restored version have no fears on that. It is
why the model is taking a lot more time than some of our other projects.

We do know about some of the discrepancies on the sim model. Thankfully
you havenโ€™t picked up any of the other little areas that need tweaking.
The HFL guys have though! All of them are to be worked out by the time
that the model is finally sent to HFL for final approval. Hope you got a
good computer system as we have upped the detail quite a bit and it
therefore needs a better than average computer to run.

    Happy Flying

    The Aeroplane Heaven Team

So sleep tight. I believe the model will look as real as possible.

    Shame on Russia:p !

Hopfully, some of these warbirds will find a better future in the west. A lot of airframes have moved to europe and the USA. It seems that there are still some interesting planes to restore.

    Any Buyers?:D

Nice pics for such a camera. The B-17 and the waco do look heavenly.

The fireball from the P51C is nice. Maybe you can post this pic in Dave Homewood’s thread : The best airshow airfield attack.
