Thanks Sabrejet. I never trust display boards, always go by the item itself!
I think you’d need a slightly beefier cable to pull a Horsa or Hamilcar!
More interesting bits, thanks for the updates. You have a lot of scrubbing to do! The left hand parts in the last photo are pneumatic connectors from the gun bays.
I’ve only got a longer canopy slider for comparison, presumably rear as a matching stop has been fitted to the rear of the runner. I will take measurements as soon as I find the calipers!
One for the new year: A very odd Russian version of a Luftwaffe grip. Fitted to the ugly even by helicopter standards Mi-1 ‘Hare’. It looks like a banana version of a KG12. Does anyone have any spare Soviet push buttons? Something I’ve never seen for sale.
More likely tank strap buckle. Can’t find a decent pic yet.
The slider looks to be brass or bronze so should take a bit of bending back to shape and drilling.
An interesting collection! It certainly hit the ground hard. The flap lever and canopy lock ear will fit well in the cockpit. The ammo cover catches look useable too. It will be a fascinating journey through the boxes. Do keep posting!
That’s a useful addition to your build. Would love to see pics of the recovered items, and progress since last summer. Very impressive so far! The canopy sliders are a streamlined brass shape with rectangular hollows I believe.
Similary dodgy ‘Zeppelin’ items here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Internal-And-External-Lighting-Parts-Of-The-LZ130-Graf-Zeppelin-/141533892967?pt=UK_Collectables_Militaria_LE&hash=item20f413d167
The seller has a variety of aircraft scrap with fancy labels. My knowledge of Zeppelins is small, but I’m confident they were not using British brass oxygen fittings.
Looking through his recent feeback, someone spent £211 on a Zeppelin gyro compass. It is a drift sight.
I despair of people: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Piece-Zeppelin-Lz127-/141488151584
Compliments of the season to all!
Miltary Trader caught out for fraudulent sales, interesting post:

Ahh, just looked at his collection, it snook in at the bottom. Very nice! A recent purchase was a correct A10 Thunderbolt B8 grip to fit a column I’ve had for a while. It has a different trigger mechanism to most B8s and a smaller wrist rest. Subtle but important…
That is nice Nick. There can’t be many people with the P38 pair!
I’ve not read all the threads religously, but did visit the Dornier on the open week. I have a Me110 fragment with a .303 hole through it. The hole in the channel 17 prop is considerably bigger. I can’t believe it was caused by a tumbling 303 or secondary debris. The skin fragment is on a 10mm grid. I was tempted to insert my finger into the Dornier prop by way of scale. I didn’t.
Now there’s a challenge! What sort of display and where? A lovely idea. Saw this on ebay and wondered where a lot of stuff goes…http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/191433208096?_trksid=p2060778.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
R2800? Lots of P47s dug that way, possibly P61. Was pleased to to see the Carneddau Boston wings hadn’t been lost to history.
