Draken, that is nice. Did not have a clue! The F106 still has it for me. Double handed and all those switches. Pure Star Wars.
And 96 wasn’t the model number either. A little knowledge…:(
Would HP96 make it Hastings?
Very impressive item Nick! You’ll need a lot of Deox C to get it perfect but will be well worth it. Interesting that items removed from the hills back in the eighties are appearing again for display. Can I hear ‘Peak Wreck Hunter’ turning in his grave? I do hope so.
What an amazing (and very French) collection! Thanks for sharing. I’m guessing the top four are Mirage and the second three Mystere? Late Hunter and Lightning, a Russian one for Gin ye Daur to identify. A4 Skyhawk, F8 Crusader, F14 Tomcat, Vigilante, F106 (that really is special!), F4, B8 B7, early B8 and an exotic radar controller? I’m very impressed and very jealous!
Here is a finished off a Harrier grip stand. Much as I’d like a GR7 and FA2 I don’t think they will be appearing in time to leave spaces for them. I didn’t know about the development Harrier stick, as excellently displayed by GOKONE at the fest so that will also be ignored. So much to learn!
Welcome to the forum, Mira. Thanks for the extra information on the Super Etendard grip. There is no label on the grip unfortunately. Do post some of your grips and throttles, always good to see more!
That’s a lovely group, bigdave. Both ends of a Lanc covered and in great condition. The connection for the second yoke must be quite unusual.
Here’s a less historic one from cockpifest, a rough casting for an HS125 yoke. Makes a nice comparison with the finished version. Thanks AM.
A really good day out with plenty to see again. A pity about the weather but that’s the British summer. Lots of chat and some useful things purchased. Thanks to all!
I think you have a gun camera cover rather than a gun port cover. I have a less bent one with ‘camera cover’ or similar stamped into it. A useful clue for identification!
It looks very much like a splendid lump of Wellington for sale at Shoreham Andy, although this looks like a frame from nearer the tail. There are hints of geodetic around the outer edge. You’re right on the previous highlighting AM, but these were too bad to leave.
Thanks Rob, not quite a display yet. Literally still up on bricks!
WB556, I don’t think even JetArt have had an FA.2 stick for sale. I’d love one but you’re a more deserving cause;)
Looks like a dead OV1 Mohawk.
Lift sorted for the ‘fest and very much looking forward to coming up (thanks Marks). Would love to see some exotic sticks. Martyn, your AH64 pair and Russian stuff would be interesting and Tony, does the TSR2 grip ever leave the safe? That would be something!
There’s a third FRS1 stick on ebay at the moment, this time with GR1 trim switch. It looks a bit unlikely but did it ever happen? I rushed home to try fitting a similar late Wessex trim switch to mine but alas it didn’t work.
Hopefully this will be finished for next year, panel and sticks.
More shameful mis listing. Lots of history for an approach light: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RARE-raf-lancaster-cockpit-control-from-plane-JB659-s-d30-1-44-crashed-Amsterdam-/121121757840?pt=UK_Collectables_Militaria_LE&hash=item1c336b5a90
And a piece of what looks like Dambuster Wellington: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/WW2-617-DAMBUSTERS-RAID-F-Lt-Hopgood-AJM-Lancaster-AIRFRAME-CRASHED-Relic-/390604511165?pt=UK_Collectables_Militaria_LE&hash=item5af1d7d7bd
