Indeed the Thames is the agreed area for the Fighters should there be a problem.Worth monitoring Thames on 132.700 as well.
According to Sky News the flypast consists of BBMF (Lanc,Hurri,Spit) and 2 each Typhoon and Tornado apparently with the jets in “Windsor Formation!”T.o.t. Buck Palace 13.30 and 30secs.
Thirteen Yaks in formation flew over the village towards Ware at this time.
Lovely! .I guess its the annual Yak Training Week at North Weald.
i believe it was Mark Hanna waving in that low pass scene
It is definately Ray this is confirmed by Warbirds Worldwide issue 2 who interviewed Mark shortly after the film was made.
Back to something said earlier, wasnt the pentagon ment to release info on a-10 and ac-130 missions over libya?
The A10’s were shown on Sky News last night, a wonderful aircraft.
Come on peeps its a great chance to get involved on “the other side of the fence”with a great bunch of guys and girls.
Lets face it chaps any no-fly zone would have to be done with our allies assistance we can simply no longer do it alone. The radar and sam sites need taking out first and we havent enough resources to do this ourselves. Then Typhoon can safely set up the policing of the zone. With the announcement today that 2 more Tornado Squadrons are to disband we had better move quickly or all we could have left to rely on will be the Memorial Flight and maybe the Vulcan Trust are on standby!
Another kit worth considering is the GWS Tiger Moth 400.Its a very slow flying and stable electric artf and fairly scale like in appearance. As long as you build light its a very forgiving flyer.
I recall the captain that was hit being interviewed after receiving his award, when asked “when you were hit what went through your mind?”he quipped “a bullet”
I had a very pleasant weeks Atc annual camp at Coningsby during the 70’s working with 41sqn on the FGR2.Great memories and good luck with your venture Bac 1-11.
For me its Dave Allen,Bob Monkhouse,Jasper Carrott and more recently Jack Dee and Lee Evans away from standup Ronnie Barker as Arkwright was genius “ggggranville fetch your cloth”
