REF: flySunJet.com operations
Our pilot recruitment will not take place until June 2007 as we are dry leasing the aircraft and using our own Cabin Crew.
I assume you mean you’ll be damp-leasing, as dry leasing doesn’t include pilots?
Nope
yep lol
Sky Commuter
Does anybody know if/how their first flight went? Their flight was scheduled for today from Oxford to Cambridge.
very nice
I’ve been reading these forums for quite some time, but only recently signed up.
Everybody is obviously entitled to their opinion, however it’s a bit harsh on a guy who is a member of this forum, to be criticizing right under his nose, so to speak, think how you would feel if people where talking about your credibility on the project you’ve been dreaming about for years. However I’m not turning this into a massive debate, just food for thought, all the best for Martin, I hope he does everybody proud.
Dan
They have not said they can do any better… but some are criticising, I don’t think it’s fair to go criticising him, when they have no idea of the complexities involved and are not starting up airlines for themselves…. if they could do so much better, when why are they not?
Give him a break and lets see what happens.
If you think you can do any better, why are you not starting your own airline?
Very few people will have any idea of the complexities and logistics involved in trying to set up a company involved in air travel, Martin is trying to do this, so excellent and all credit to him! Even if it doesn’t work out, which of course I hope and believe it will, at least he’s tried, which is more than can be said for 99.9% of people.
People seem to be so critical of those starting up companies in this industry which apparently all of you have an interest in, how about you try and support these people, as opposed to just putting them down, isn’t there enough hatred in this world?
As far as people saying, “in a few weeks” you should all be aware by now, “in a few weeks” can mean a lot of things in aviation language.
It’s a public footpath area, there is a slope which goes up so you can see the whole airfield and be next to the runway. As long as you have a car it’s easy to get too, only a 5 minute walk from where you park.
The few times I’ve been it’s been quite busy with people, does indeed get you close to the action, if 24L is in use for take-offs.
Looking at those figures, you can’t say they are doing badly, nothing wrong wiv those figures considering the time the routes have operated. I could only see Shannon being dropped, certainly anything getting 70-80% loads will not be touched.
It’s no surprise with the Flybe Glasgow service, considering it was only 1X daily, it was never going to do very well if business passengers cannot do a day return.
Range at optional max takeoff weight with P&W engines 7277km (3929nm)
I feel sorry for the drivers
Have people tried out the spot on the other side of the airport? By 24L? Obviously have to have a car to get over there, but I’ve been a few times and it is rather impressive, even more so is the spot right under the approach lights for 06L, but thats a good 10-15 min walk from the 24L spot!
Costs £1 on the bus from LPL to Hunts Cross station, then about £6-8 or so return from there direct to the MAN, depending on time of day… So probably worth just going direct to MAN.
very nice, and a nice day for once! Looks like it’s going to last up here for a while too 🙂
