    RE: Manchester Runway Two

I go to Manhcester a lot! The Aviation viewing park is the best bet although its difficult to see departing planes. The pub at the threshold is at the end of 24R. Its ok but a bit dodgy now. You can get to it by following signs to T3 then at the mini roundabout next to The apron, turn left. Follow this road and its on the right. There is a vantage point for Runway 2. If you go through both tunnels under the runways, go all the way round the roundabout at the end, there is a large road on the left heading back under the tunnel. It says ‘do not block, for emergencies only’ but you can go up it and into a field on the right. It can get muddy, bt its great for seeing planes.

RE: whats the best airline and aircraft you have flown

LAST EDITED ON 22-08-01 AT 00:58 AM (GMT)[p]Recently i flew 3 flights in one day!!!!!! Sabena 737-500 Manchester to Brussels, Sabena A330-200 Brussles to Chicago, and American Airlines Md-82/83 Chicago to Orlando. They were all good flights, although the 737 was a little dirty on the outside when i looked at it from the lounge at Manchester. I have to say, the A330-200 was the best plane ive ever flown on. I could not believe how quiet it was, and the personal video screens at every seat were fantastic. I kept switching between a film and the moving map display to see where we were. The food was good i thought, but i love airline food anyway. (freak) The only problem was the legroom. It wasnt me that had the problem, but my 6’3 friend. On the return flight he sprawled into my foot compartment so that was not too comfortable.

AA were fantastic on the legroom department, mainly because of their policy to remove a row of seats from each plane. Their food was good too. They have strange system where-by you pick up a lunch bag before you get on the plane. Never heard of that 1.

Both the airlines were good, but the A330 was phenomenal. The Md-82/83 wasnt bad either.
