Adonis, this is exactly the type of thinking we do not need. We have precious little money compared to some others. We need to think twice as hard and smart as to where we spend it.

We don’t need a useless white elephant in the fleet when we could have a family of sharks for the same price.

Your figures are quite wrong. Consult the CIA world factbook’s indicators for this year and you will see that Greece has surpassed Portugal and is catching up to Spain.

This topic is a waste. Such toys are not required for the Aegean, and neither Greece nor Turkey can afford them.

Greece has old Charles F Adams destroyers that need replacing and Turkey might wanna think about replacing their old Knox class and O.H Perry class vessels instead of investing time and money into cosmetic additions to the fleet.

Plus, purchasing aircraft carriers with aircraft will lead to some problems as it applies to training and operation as each nations naval aviation element consists mainly of small fixed wing aircraft and helos.
