Fantasma what is the status of the new Mirage’s?
Also, it would probably be on Turkeys interest to have a strong Albania in the region (Greece) so we could get concessions for a squadron.
The shipment of F-22’s is on the way.
Hmmm. What an interesting world we live in. EF poaching potential F-35 customers, Dassault nudging the RN for the carrier ready Rafale if Britian withdraws from the F-35.
Interesting times.
S-300PMU-1s. Unfortunately a neighbor complained and for some inane reason they went to Crete, and Greece gave the Greek Cypriots Tors instead.

not really? Naturally most of Turkey’s population are at the coast, and so the air bases.. but from what’s there.. only Bandirma and Balikeshir have combat fighters.. the rest of the western air bases are transports, helicopters and trainers.
With the exception of the units stationed at Diyarbakir and Malatya which comprise 3 F-4 and 3 F-16 squadrons, the rest of the combat capability of the Turkish Airforce is oriented to the west as is most of their base infrastructure. As Fantasma said, taken in concert with the substantial manpower and amphibious capabilities of the 4th Army, we can get a clearer picture overall.
I won’t deny that Turkey has many “aspirations” outside of the Aegean, however opposing the Iraqi, Iranian, and Syrian borders there seems to be a slightly unbalanced disposition of air assets that I think anyone who can read would agree with. Not to mention the volatility of Turkey’s majority Kurdish southeast. One would argue that the side of Turkey facing the 3 aforementioned nations is much more ‘dangerous’ a place in the world than the Aegean, but there doesn’t seem to be this balance with that in mind.
Regards
Agreed. Turks don’t think about Greece most of the time, but unfortunately Greeks don’t realise that.
Take a look at the disposition of their forces and you will come to a conclusion that may shock you.

They should say a big thanks, as some systems that are being used on the F-16U have been developed in Elisra, an Israeli company.
And perhaps Israel should say a big thanks, as the F-16I’s were purchased with American money.
I have no knowledge of them i thought the latest block of Greece might be almost equally good
No no. Certainly the mighty Israelis must be te best and have the best.

The fact that he was Brazilian does not mean he couldn’t be Muslim. As far as I am aware from the news there has been no mention of Faith or Religion.

Menezes’ family was Roman Catholic. When asked if he had become Muslim in Britain, Agostino Ferreira Rosa, a policeman in Gonzaga said: “According to his family, he had nothing to do with Muslims or Islamism. He was Catholic.”

Yes well they certainly got it right didn’t they?
Follow the Israeli example. They still have no idea why the Palestinians do what they do.

He was challenged by armed police and tried to escape.
From what I’ve seen here, the man was actually subdued and THEN shoot.
I don’t know how Scotland Yard does things, but here when a suspect is subdued, kicking or hitting him is a major no no, let alone pumping 5 bullets into him.
