United recently announced that they are shutting down their Miami base. There will surely be more of the same in the next year. I’ll believe UAL will get out of bankrupcy when I see it.

From the pilots I’ve talked to the 328Jet is worthless. It has an insane climb rate but cruises at only a fraction more than the prop version. It still has deicing boots, not heated wings like every other regional jet out there has.

I’ve seen plenty of deicing this winter season. 🙂 Why can’t I be flying to warmth of the south or Bahamas this time of year?

We were in a hold for over an hour while they cleared off the runway but they still hadn’t gotten to the taxiways yet as you can see in this picture of a Jazz Dash-8. Most of the taxiways were impassible or nearly unusable all over this airport. It was a nightmare. 🙁
