Thanks gentlemen, I did some further searching online about the battle for Vimy Ridge. Very interesting story. I might just have to track down the book.
What is this Canadian Memorial for? It’s very impressive. Also, where is it located?
Ok, congradulations on your first solo away from the field. 😀
Great pictures!

At this particular airshow the CAF Texan taxied into a stationary C172 full of passengers waiting to takeoff. The pilot said he didn’t see the C172 sitting there! Luckily no one was hurt and neither prop stuck anything. It did scare the life out of the passengers, 1 of which it was his first airplane ride ever. That young boy opted not to go up on a later flight which is too bad.
The same crew/Texan last year was showing off on their arrival and dragged the wingtip on landing narrowly avoiding disaster. I appreciate the work that they do and the hours they invest in preservation but personally I’ve never been impressed with their professionalism. Time to drop the “Good ‘Ol Boys Club” attitude.

PS: Is that a P&W I spy on the 52?
I’m by no means an good source for aviation history information but the engine did have CASA data plates on it. I guess they could have put the plates on a P&W for that extra authentic look. If I see the airplane again next airshow season I’ll have to pay closer attention and remember to ask one of the crew. At least I remembered to ask about the engine cowl mirrors this time. 🙂
Looking at the other videos on the website I would gather that it’s real training as they seem to know the callouts and flight profiles.
Oops. 😀
Thank you. 🙂
Formation flying in aircraft where you have 2 side-by-side seats makes the observer a necessity. Sitting in the left seat makes any aircraft in close proximity on your right nearly invisible. Even with the extra pair of eyes we ended up too close a few times.
And finally the overhead break…
That’s all for today.
This pass was dirty…
A couple pictures of the F-15 low passes..
