@bmused: A Boeing-plane with only 2 civil operators is a failure. I dont think it make profit to make a aircraft where only a few have been made. Maybe to late?
Concorde?
He was probably no more than an observer or perhaps a radio operator but I’m sure the captain was happy to have another set of eyes up front.
Isn’t this every Private Pilot’s dream? 😀

I think its about 46/47% load factor but not sure
Your numbers are probably right. They’ve really been struggling to establish themselves and are still waiting for the load factors to pickup.
Is it me, or does the Independance Air look like there’s no one actually on board? Not a single window blind closed and that seems a tradtion in the US for take off and landing. 😉
It’s not a tradition that I’m aware of. Take a look at the other US aircraft I posted here and very few of the shades are down. Of course there might not be anyone on board as Humberside’s numbers indicate. 🙂
How many E170’s does ORD get a day?
I don’t believe US Airways comes in with their EMB-170’s so Chautauqua would be the only carrier operating them. So far Chautauqua only has 2 or 3 so I would venture a guess that there are about 1-5 departures a day.

As far as I can tell the MS-21 will be in the 100 seat market which is similar to the RRJ series (60-95 seats). No matter, the RRJ range is significantly less than that of the projected MS-21. Just because an aircraft has less seats should mean that it has a significantly lower range. The economics of it aren’t marketable.

That’s the rumor. Supposedly a deal was made for the EMB-170’s that USAirways was suppose to get but lost financing for. All big announcements have followed the passing of a new pilot contract and we’ll find out in 4 days if ours passes. We had 25 jet orders prior to our current contract being signed and 250 jet orders within 12 months after it being signed.
We take our last ERJ-145XR delivery in about 1 year and the last thing our management wants to do is stop growing so future orders seem to be inevitable. The EMB-170 family would fit into our current fleet quite nicely.
There were a few references to the CO scope clause keeping us from flying anything larger than 59 seat jets. The loophole in their scope is that it only prevents us from flying out of the CO hubs (IAH, CLE, EWR) with 59+ seat jets. If we begin our own flying out of any other city with larger jets we are exempt from the CO scope clause.
The other rumor is a LAX hub. We started flying 5 destination this month out of LAX with more rumored to be on the way. It seems only a matter of time before they’ll have to announce it as a hub for our operation. Once such a hub exists (non-CO hub) the door is open for us to start flying larger jets.
2005 is going to be an interesting year for both CO and ExpressJet.

Thanks for the kudos all.
I really like the Independance Air livery as well. They’ve had some trouble getting their A319’s online so they haven’t been seen too much. I did spy one of their 2 A319’s in Orlando a few weeks ago but it was across the airport so it didn’t make for a very good picture. I like their livery on the CRJ but it looks a lot better on the A319. I think they suppose to be online by the end of this month now but even that is questionable.

They are starting to grow on me as well. I really didn’t care for them at first but the more I see the different aircraft wearing the new livery the more I like it. I still prefer the old livery but all good things must come to an end.

Oops, the Mexicana Airbus made it in there twice. 🙂
