Probably all other people will chose fighters but I’d go for C-130’s. I’ve always liked them and they do visit a lot more places than the fighters do.

If this BAT is SAL homing why not just use Hellfires? Surely Hellfires are cheaper and available and could be hung under the wings and the reduction in range (ie up to about 10km) would have the side benefit of being able to properly identify the target visually before attack. Unless the poor third world countries the US likes to attack have all ordered medium range SAMs and the AC-130s need the extra range…

In fact they did test Hellfires being fired from AC-130’s a few years ago but I guess they didn’t like the results.

Hockenheim

Kleinflugzeug stürzte ab

In der Nähe von Hockenheim ist gestern Nachmittag ein Kleinflugzeug abgestürzt und zerschellt. Der Pilot der einmotorigen Maschine konnte sich mit dem Fallschirm retten. Der 44-jährige war in Worms gestartet und hatte Probleme mit der Steuerung bekommen. Aus rund 2.000 Metern Höhe sprang er mit dem Fallschirm ab und landete auf dem Satteldach eines Aussiedlerhofs. Die Flugzeug-Trümmer wurden sichergestellt.

Basically it says a single engine machine crashed because of controlproblems and the pilot saved himself with his parachute.
The plane took off from ‘Worms’.
I heard this story on the SWR 1 radiostation and they said it was a FW190….

Next time maybe you can give a guy the benefit of the doubt although nothing is posted on the ‘oh so great german flugzeugforum’.

Thanks Flex, I was talking post-delivery and some of your pics are indeed post delivery. I think the ones with the US serials were taken at Lakenheath?

Nice to see all these pics of the Israeli F-15’s but does anyone know where I can find a picture of the Saudi Strike Eagles? I’ve only see pre-delivery pictures but none from Saudi Arabia.

8: C-29A (BAe 125-800FI). They were used for combat flight inspection and navigation mission roles and were later turned over to the FAA to enter the civil register. (They were still flown by military pilots though)
