Very nice pics Franck! Got any info on the F-Z registered A-4N on the same website?? Saw it at Lann Bihoue’s Open House last week.
Some Hercs…
Yes Bรผchel was rather boring, even more after lunch when they stopped flying completely! 9 Tornados for the morningmission isn’t bad nowadays but it is if they’re not flying in the afternoon!!
Not many visitors either… A JbG 38 Tornado that arrived just before we did. Some Volkelspotters already in the approach failed to read the serial unfortunately.
Other than that an Atlantic which was quite nice since you don’t see those everyday but still nothing compared to those Fitters!!!
I heard the weather would be even worse tomorrow so I might reconsider going… Ah well I’ll post the result tomorrow evening. ๐
Koen
PS. You’re not the only one that was talking about Brรผggen-Tornados last weekend. ๐
Steve you were at Lann Bihoue? Hmm should have known that… In particular since I talked to Paul on Sunday!!! I was one of the three Dutchies (the young one) waiting for the train to the Atla hangar to arrive… In the end you guys (I guess you were with Paul) decided to walk there and shortly after that so did we.
Thanks for the E-2 pics by the way!
Arthur, the Open Dagen were less than mediocre indeed but I don’t want to sound to negative. The directions back to the motorway were absolute cr*p though. If I had known you were at the SGV stand I would have come by and have a chat. ๐
Koen
PS. the @*!*! Fitters didn’t fly so I’m making a 500km round trip again tomorrow to try my luck again.
Hmm you get all the good stuff in the UK while dutch spotters like me have to do with mediocre KLu Open Houses. You better get some pics on here!
Koen, off to see some Su.22’s at Buechel tomorrow ๐
I think I read somewhere that Indian pilots even get a lot more hours than the US ones, quite lot more even. Have to find the exact figures but I remember it being like 20% more.
I’m suprised at you Art, you should know that the Surveiller doesn’t carry any weapons, this version is supposed to be able to carry Harpoons, Torps and all the other goodies of the role!
Uhm correct me if I’m wrong but where did Arthur say anything about the Surveiller carrying weapons? I think he was talking about other parts.
(Maybe we can talk about aircraft again all?)
Steve, got your email on touchdown as well (I’m the Koen who posted the Su.25 serials on the egroups) and will try to bug my Czech contact for some more details. I’ll also ask him if I could post the pic of the ones ready to be shipped on here.
Koen
How about a horrible USN L-39?
Just found it, here you go:

US PC-6 Turbo Porter during evaluation 1964
Actually the US still has a couple of PC-6’s in service… I’m trying to find a pic of one now and will post it when I find it.
I’ll gladly join in on Arthur’s crusade against the F-16. ๐
The C-130A Tankers are grounded after two wing failures and fatal crashes.
Talk is the grounding is permanent.Leo
I know one of the crashes where the wing broke off but C-130A’s were still flying last August and I think the crashes happened before that time. Correct me if I’m wrong though, I’m more into military C-130’s than ex military ones.
Forgot, the DC-130A’s are also still flying.
On this note, are there any C-130A’s preserved anywhere else around the world? I know we have one down here in Australia and that it’s in full flying condition.
The Mexican AF still has a few A models on strength. There are a few A-model airtankers flying in the US as well.
