Saw the second group of 3 being loaded into the same Antonov this afternoon.
Special thanks goes to two A-10’s from Spangdahlem performing FAC exercises on the base later in the afternoon. Callsigns Cyborg 1 and 2 😀
Koen
Thanks for the info on the costs Milavia, was wondering about that.
Saw them putting the Apaches in the Antonov yesterday and will surely go have a look again tomorrow.

c- Hunter/India
Okay, we have the UK, which is correct. Now two more…
The Netherlands and Belgium.

What countries use the F-16 in a recce role?
The Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, the US and Taiwan are correct. Greece is not, and why should they when they have quite an inventory of RF-4E’s
Norway, Israel, Turkey (although they do operate RF-4E’s as well)
Probably more but I’m not too interested in F-16’s. 😀

Identify the following aircraft. So that means type, identification number and operator:
a- Buster Gonad
Sean is warm, but “Buster Gonad and his Unfeasibly Large Testicles” (with drawing of a guy carrying his balls in a cart) was not a Tornado. It was an airplane during the 1991 Gulf War though.
Jaguar GR.1 XZ118, RAF

c- The Underachiever
None of the Matt Groening fans? One of the many Bart Simpson planes from the 1991 Gulf War.
Don’t you mean The OVERachiever here? In that case it would be USAF F-117A 85-0818. It shows Bart riding a LGB.
b- OV-10B, Luftwaffe
Frank, you’re right in thinking about civilian contractors, but the F-100s (and now Skyhawks) weren’t the replacements for the Broncos. Something else, but there was absolutely a replacemet. Something militarish even.
The civil registered PC-9B’s:

Hmm is it me or are those clips of a rather low quality? Shame they put that annoying music over the engine-sounds. 😡
Couldn’t agree more! In fact I was thinking about posting a topic like this myself… Taiwanese president shot… Osama Bin Laden… There have been way too many off topic threads lately!

The Be200’s are in a crap scheme too.
Not to mention those crappy civilian registrations on em. 🙁 Except for the roundels they hardly look like aircraft being used by the military!
Give me a Jetstream any time over one of these!
Ok here we go…
-A Dutch AF calender with a different modern or historic aircraft on it every month.
-A poster of a dutch C-130 head on.
-A poster of a dutch F-16 head on.
-A poster of the dutch Fokker 27 display.
-A poster of a dutch AH-64.
-A poster of a dutch CH-47.
-A load of photos from my first all-warbird show.
-A HUGE poster of another dutch F-16 they used to put up in busstops as an advertisement.
-A poster featuring various US warbirds.
-A poster of California Cutie (P-38)
-A poster of the TFC B-25D.
-A poster of TFC’s P-47.
-A load of squadron prints I once won in an online contest.
-And last a reprint of a painting of 2 332 squadron Spitfires over the Netherlands, a small version of which can be seen on the pic below.
It surprises me how few people have squadron prints’ prints on their walls by the way, they are excellent!

What has happened to the Harvards now, anyone know? Were they faithfully restored to T6’s, or did they get scrapped?
The Harvards are still flying on a regular bases with the ‘Stichting KLu Historische Vlucht’ (Royal Netherlands AF Historic Flight Association) out of Gilze Rijen. I don’t know if all of them still do because they’ve had a number of different Harvards and still operate 6 of em now.
They also fly:
1 Auster Mk.3
5 Super Cups
1 DH Beaver
1 Ryan STM trainer
1 Stinson Sentinel
1 Beech 18
4 Fokker S.11’s
1 DH Tigermoth
Pride of the fleet, 1 Spitfire Mk.9
and last (and definetely least!) a Cessna 172 for training purposes.
Recently they received a Fokker 27 which they will get to airworthy condition for displaying purposes as well.

I, for one, don’t like Saving Private Ryan too much, although I do watch it now and then. Too much of the American flag-waving for my liking (nothing against the Americans!).
[joking]
Nothing bad about the Americans! They did afterall steal the Enigma machine! Really, I saw it in a movie with my own eyes!

That Mr Warwick scene is one of the best non-flying scenes of the film.
Yeah one of my favorite parts as well. ‘Don’t you yell at me like that, Mr Warwick’….
You should have seen it last week on German TV, they dubbed the whole movie! (And I had a very good laugh)
Why does it say ‘TLP Mission’ on the NOTAM. In that case it’s not the Harriers.
I have read about the formation flypast elsewhere though so I think people are confusing 2 different things here.
Yup really easy to find those pics. Today there was another one on there… This time one of our southern neighbours’ lawndarts:
Here’s one for you: http://www.airliners.net/open.file/516971/L/
I’m not sure at all but I think that, apart from maybe some historic flights, this is the last one in service of an Air Force.
They are/were Steve. Although I think officially there’s nothing there?
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo I spotted it too late again! I should really check this forum more often. 😡
