I am sorry to disagree with you FalconDude but there are several diferences btw the A-10 and the Su-25.Lets take a look at them:
-The A-10 is much more armored and resistent to damage than the Su-25
-The position of the engines of the A-10 makes it harder to shoot down with a single shot than the Frogfoot…it also hides its IR signature. This was one of the reasons why the A-10 won the A-X competition on the 1970s(it also makes the engine less vulnerable to FOD).
-You forget to tell readers off your post that the ukrainian AF lost 3 Su-25s in August but in the same month also lost 2 Mig-29s Fulcrum(we all know that more Su-25 are in use for gound attack and that they spend more time in contact it enemy ground forces)
-Also not mentioned is the fact that the SU-25 of the UAF where rushed in to service and lack modern avionics and counter-mesures
-Not mentioned also is the fact that Mig-21s,Mig-23s and Su-24s(all very fast jets) have been dropping like flies in Syria
Well these are the values i found…http://www.counterpunch.org/2014/02/28/chuck-hagels-a-10-legacy/
I believe the Swedes claim that they achieved launch parameters on a passing SR with a JA37, presumably with Sky Flash.
While the Viggen was not the best option to do that ,i believe the Swedes…they had data-link capability in the late 1970s and where often flyed over by the SR-71…i see no reason for this not being true…but the Viggen had only a one shoot side interception that had to be VERY well timed…
German Eurofighters facing serviceability issues
According to the report, out of Germany’s 109 Eurofighters, 35 aircraft are currently undergoing external maintenance, leaving 74 aircraft in service. However of these 74 only 42 aircraft are currently available for missions, training, and exercises. The report did not specify the reasons for this, but IHS Jane’s has learnt that the decreased availability of the aircraft is based on a mixture of spare parts policy and their overall costs.

The Eurofighter is a great aircraft, managed by incompetent governments…this is one of the reasons why it lost so many foreign competitions…its allways late …problems are late to be solved, weapons are late to be integrated, new versions are late or never leave paper…just sad

http://www1.fips.ru/fips_servl/fips_servlet?DB=EVM&DocNumber=2014617720&TypeFile=htmlApparently AESA IFFs are an important element of VVS upgrades with 4283MP being the forerunner for systems intended for Mi-28N and, of course, the PAK-FA.
Hope the links work- I’m typing this on my tablet which has issues with pdf addresses.
Is there any word on this system being used to jam data-links or as detection system against VLO targets?
So is this the new cammo (nice btw, reminds me of the iraqi ones) for the future Su-25SM3 upgrades, replacing the grey one? What is the status of this upgrade, we see SM-80 in the first pic, so we can deduce that 80 have been delivered so far? (though pretty sure we were talking about SM-79 at least a year ago)
The plane looks brand new…nice pic
Hi guys, this is my first post here.I am from Portugal,so excuse me for my terrible english.
The best way ,IMO,would be to use the assets you have talked about(gunships,A-10s UCAVs) together with SF raids on the ground.Dont hold terrain, just raids…destroy and get out…repeat…and repeat…
The AC-130 would also be a great asset in this type of operation
