If you look at the history of the English Civil Wars, gun powder plot through to the creation of the United Kingdom it is actually riddled with Catholic/Protestant fighting.
As for Afghanistan, all the previous wars between them selves, the Soviet Union, Britain or anybody else interested in the country for its strategic location, aside. Surely the war that is being fought there now is the most blatant and recent conflict to be fought because of religion ?
Iraq now has a civil war between different `shades` of the same religion.Religion with in a war seems to be the cause for the most heinous crimes. From the obvious in WWII to Muslims being locked in cellars and set on fire in the most recent Balkan conflicts, Mosques being bombed in Iraq, `Infidels` being beheaded in Afghanistan. If you add religion to a war you might as well wipe your **** with the rules of the Geneva convention.
very true

Martin – hear, hear – self belief, with humility and without arrogance. Nothing fluffy about what you said.

Axel – was a man but became a god-like spirit in the eyes of his followers? Would that be a fair description of his role in the 21st century?
yeh is would indeed but nowhere in the buddist religiouse books does it say he ever became any sort of god that is only what the buddists of today and the past have made him but really he isnt a god at all, more like a saint

well i do have one disagreement with the title, the buddah was acctually a man not a god, he was a kings son and the king was told by 6 future tellers he would be king but one said if he ever left the castle he would become a man of religion, he left the castle saw all the pain a suffering and sat near a tree and found enlightenment, so the buddah never was a god and nowhere does it say he could heal the world, unlike the bible does, however i still am not religiouse because he must of become enlightened some how, meaning a god, so he was never inlightened like he said, but which ever way you look at it he was still a real man.
P.S he wasnt fat he was acctually very healthy, the reason they give food out at the temples is because he gave food to people who had no homes ETC.

BB – unless it’s my faulty eyesight, but if you look closely across the middle body of the bee and away to the upper right quadrant you can see two soft bands, either side of the body, which I reckon are the swiftly beating wings in the hover.
i agree with you on that one
