There is a single seater, I will take a look at it when I pick up the t.31 but as far as I understand the wings require a significant amount of work. They are devoid of their fabric and have been out in the rain. The fuselage seems good though.

I purchased the Slingsby T.31 from the last page to go with ‘556 as a nice vintage pair. It’s been identified as WT874. If anyone comes across any pics they would be grately appreciated.

From my standpoint I have no problem with Scotland or the Scottish, infact I wish them the best of luck if they choose to leave the UK it just has to be done fairly. I also just struggle to see the point. The United Kingdom is just that, Scotland has always kept it’s name and it’s culture and with the devolved powers the Scottish parliament have they get a pretty good deal. Still it’s their choice and I support their right to make it as long as it’s fair so the rest of the union is not left with an unfair financial burden and the Scottish people are given honest accurate information as to the implications (positive and negative) of independence.

Seems simple. Give them their territorial waters and anything DIRECTLY beneath. As has been stated most of the money would still go to England as the majority of the tax revenue is generated at point of sale. Someone mentioned vast coal reserves. Are you really going to go down that route with current environmental issues.

Give them their rightful percentage of the military along with their equally rightful percentage of uk national debt. They can have the bank of scotland back complete with its debt. Let’s see how well they get on funding their free prescriptions and university places off their own back. Let’s see how well they absorb the costs of the ever increasing instances of damaging extreme weather. Oh and no more £ for you guys. I guess it’s the € or a new Scottish pound (good luck with that).

I wish you well if you choose to go your own way but just remember once your out that’s it. You can’t compare Ireland as the situation was very different and much more violent.

The second item is very high quality, the seam welding is perfect and the steel is very high grade with little surface rust after decades under a few inches of mud. The first item has a flap that is painted with what looks like zinc chromate primer? Third is a brake shoe, just a bit bigger than I am used to. These were recovered from the ground outside a store alongside a dispersal.

I feel things are being taken somewhat out of context. I do not condone burglary or breaking and entering, my mother has been burgled in the past and it was traumatic. I don’t feel these people have a right to break into a locked private area or building in use. I was simply stating that in most of these instances the areas or items in question are at least to a certain degree disused or abandoned and in that case I see no reason for us all to get our knickers in a twist, provided of coarse no damage of any kind is being done nor anyone’s property or privacy is being put at risk.
As for the issue of the East Midlands Airpark, I can understand how some may feel a little cheated but on the other hand I would imagine that the majority of these visitors would have visited and paid at others times. I don’t do it myself but I would assume that part of the attraction is the nighttime solitude and the ability to be artistic combined with the thrill of being a bit naughty. Everyone likes an adrenalin high now and then, we just have different methods of achieving it.

If there is no damage done I don’t see any harm in most situations. I agree it’s a little different if breaking through the perimeter of an active airfield but again as long as no damage is caused I guess it’s up to the individual to decide whether risking their personal freedom is worth it.

It would indeed be idiotic to attempt to power on an aircraft, for one reason you would likely draw immediate attention to yourself so I find it unlikely this was meant in anything other than jest.

The positive can bee seen in the first of the two Vulcan links above. It is indeed a sad sight but without the photographer we would not have those views of the interior of the Blackpool Vulcan as she is obviously no longer with us.

It would be nice to think there could just be a live and let live attitude provided any urbexing is done in a safe and non damaging manner.

Well if nothing else I guess it serves to demonstrate the sort of state that most of the elusive burried hordes of ww2 gear must be in, that video could be 20 years old as well….

Well with the Bournemouth air festival running shortly after this we only need one in Southampton to fill the gap and everyone can come spend most of the month down on the south coast.

I do question the need for 2 large displays within almost visible distance of each other only a fortnight apart. Portsmouth is also a complete b*tch for parking and this is going to be a gridlocked nightmare. I can see trouble as well considering the number of dodgy housing estates in the area and the likelihood of plenty of alcohol being available in the vicinity of southsea common. This assessment I assure you has nothing to do with the fact that I grew up in Southampton and now live near Bournemouth 🙂

I will go but I think arriving by sea makes more sence.
