I heard it will be headed stateside too. At least one engine has been removed so they must have had a few issues during the engine runs.
If anyone has contact details for Mr Towler please PM me, I will be very discreet.
Ten years on, same question!
There have been a couple of engineers working full time on the airframe for weeks now along with an ‘inspector’. No idea who he is but that is how he was introduced. Given the amount of money and effort being spent she has to fly, or maybe she will magically catch fire during taxi testing, be written off and then the subject of a massive insurance claim?!
She lives! I only caught the tail end of the engine test but I can’t wait to see this one spread her wings!

And the flying bulls, with their airworthy Sycamore
That’s a lovely seat and grip, is there a panel attached too?
Oh and for cleaning your hands after just put a sprinkle of caster sugar into you hands with normal washing up liquid. Better than swarfega.
A couple of pics of the rear crew desk. First one would seem to be a souvenir from the Gulf War the second is hand written underneath one of the desks lift up sections! Anyone have any idea who Bob D is or what XL164 was doing in California?
We have managed to free off the crew door latching/locking mechanism which had been very firmly seized for the last 15+ years – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N78TpMBgQls
They may also have visions of having to drag you out of waste deep muck! Incidentally Robin Hood in that 1980’s film looks like a younger Dakota Fred from gold rush. Maybe that explains why he’s gone quiet!
Before deciding what could be achieved with the cockpit interior I picked the most corroded panel that could be removed and decided to strip it back to see what sort of finish could be achieved. After several hours of paint stripping and gentle work with wet and dry we have this. So long story short, it’s all looking very good!
One other question. If any collectors out there have victor instrument panels that I could have copied could they please PM me? Discretion assured!
