Its about b—-y time
At last, a hint of common sense, and, its not even a politicaly correct site. These buildings are THE MOST IMPORTANT IN AVIATION DEVELOPMENT HISTORY. Its just a shame the other parts of the site couldn’t have been saved.
As said by Moggy.-
“What more can you say”
BATTLE OF BRITAIN
My original reason for posting my thoughts was personal, however after reading some opinions, I can only add –
“Thank you Mr Brothers, and your other brothers in arms, for allowing me the opertunity to air my views”

Hi Dog house Ldr.
Welcome to the forum. Hope you enjoy the chat.
They need to get rid of some management first!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don’t very often enter into a debate about things like this, howerver, Many moons ago I made a comment on this site regarding Duxford and American built aeroplanes, that comment seems more apt now than ever before. “Unless it has Stars and Bars it will not get any attention at all.” Having been part of the “V” force myself many years ago, I feel for the Victor, it looked b—-y shaby when it was painted last time, as to how many K1s will be left in 5 years. If its left to this lot – NONE.
Hoon The Goon.
😡 You may laugh, The Lancaster is the only bomber the RAF has on its books now. The way things are going the UK will be unable to break up a pub fight. The only way to sort this out is get rid of the pen pushers and other politicaly correct idiots………………..
Out of interest, G-BOML did have a smoke system fitted at one time, it was plumbed into the rear exhaust stacks.
HOON’S CUTS
Thank’s Mark, thats the one I was thinking of.
If you want to put an Aeroplane under cover at DX, It would stand a better chance if you painted “Stars & Bars” on it first.
Talking of mainstays of the 60s, the Vickers Varsity, if memory serves me, was the longest, or one of the longest serving training Aeroplanes in the RAF. How many of those are left, let alone under cover. It would be better if people who develop these new buildings have a better understanding how Aeroplanes move on the ground. NOT VERY WELL. I can remember a time, not many years ago when Duxford still had that 1940s – 50s feel to it, now it seems as though they just want to turn it into a herd them in and stack em high theme park.
Still, this is just my opinion.
Just for info, I think BBMF put a Spitfire up with Concorde along the white cliffs as well. Not sure if it was “P7 or AB” I think the Major was flying the Spitfire. A beautiful image of two of the finnest aeroplanes in the world.
