Sorry – not much help I’m afraid but I wondered had you seen this page
http://www.flightglobal.com/pdfarchive/view/1960/1960%20-%200824.htmlThe gentleman is mentioned top right.
Thanks for that Mothminor, certainly ties up with one of his Queen’s Commendations for Valuable Service in the Air.
I didn’t realise that you can’t research QCVSA, really quite depressing:(
Thanks again for your efforts.
A little Swallow side history. The Camphill WD&HOW Swallow was ‘landed out’ by the Father of my friend Graham. Bit of damage. Graham went on to become ‘Jilted John’ and ‘Ken Shuttleworth’.
Not a lot of people know that.
I demand accuracy, it’s John Shuttleworth. Ken Worthington is his manager, all parts played by Graham:)
Looks more like 9 to me
Stunning price for what in all likelyhood is a painted Mk1. Think the seller got it off ebay in all good faith a couple of years ago. The original sellers story was Terry Kingsley was a friend, and gave it to his children to play with!
Current seller said rather sweetly, why would he lie? I think the answer is probably around £400:)
Mk1 helmet in Red Arrows colours, claims to be Terry Kingsleys, been through all my books & only see Terry with a Mk2.

Yes no Mk1s as far as I know. Also number 6 is in a very strange place.
I hope it was the FAA museum, as they were said to be interested.
Some of the other items went for quite bargain prices I thought.

Twiss Medals.
They went for a hammer price of £27,000.
I’ve just tried. On the first attempt it went into the web ring, but on the second stayed on the Moth club. Maybe worth trying a few times?
Ray Hanna.
Value has to based on provenance, I would think.
Red Arrows Altimeter
Is there anyway of confirming this as an Arrows airframe, just by looking at the serial no’s? Please excuse my ignorance, always willing to learn!
Thanks Philip, that does look like the most likely answer.
Matty,
Thanks for that, I did struggle on it but a couple of things came up. Could be a useful tool. Thanks again.
Thanks aeronut I will have a go. 🙂
Many thanks AMB for the offer. I need ’90s and 2000s I think. I am trying to work out how long a pilot/ manager was with the team. Strangely difficult really.
Thanks Bomberboy, any info is a help. I know he was ex RAF, but thats about it. Thanks again for the reply:)
Thanks for all the replies so far.
Blue Max. If I gave the impression that it was RAF teams only then sorry, it will cover teams from around the world, most of the major teams already covered,a couple causing problems! It will also cover solo acts. I will also have a section to competition aerobatics, to this end one of the items I most covet is a Neil Williams flying suit.
Mondariz. I had thought of a virtual museum, and may still have a go, but would this really give an indication of the chances of success of a real museum? Infact wouldn’t it put some people off, “I’ve seen it on the web, don’t need to go” However I have always thought a website that could become a database of pilots/aircraft would be a great iadea.
RPSmith. Thanks for the welcome. I do agree about it being a bit specialised, but I did think that one could make it ‘sexier’ for the general public with the right mixture of visual aids/music etc. Open to suggestions as ever.
AMB. Love the idea of Kemble, love the area, hate the prices of houses around there!
Stevew62. Thanks a million will be in contact today.
Just to stir things up a bit, have been told that the museum would have more of a chance in France. What say you?
