BTW I heard that iraqi technicians managed to adapt the french super-530 missile on the Mig-23… fact or fiction ?

There is no any fact about adapt super-530. only r-550.

Hi

This is another modified for MIG-23BN by Iraqi hand. by modified the aiRcraft to cary air refuel prop of mirage F-1 . and the same thing did to SU-22.

Excellent photos mm2000. Very rare and unieque.

I was wondering,if you have more information on the airfields and underground facilities built by Yugoslavian contractors in Iraq and also on the joing missile development(my cousin worked on MLRS in Iraq for couple of years in the early 1980s). Feel free to send me a pm!

And I believe the laser target designator system was an ATLIS II pod, right ?
Because the picture is far from clear, here…

Goiong back to the exocet-equipped Mig-23; how good was its radar in Air-to-sea role ? I have my doubt about its efficiency is that domain. Or have the iraqi modified the radar for air to surface role ? or have they replaced it by something more appropriate ?

The Iraq AF have ATLIS I not II
They modified the MIG-23ML aircraft with french radar .

hi mm2000 in the same video,Iraqi Falcon modrenized to carry Exocet missile and it used for long range in the gulf war against Iranian ships.
