must admit that Hamlyn flight doesn’t go over many airfields. Thought they initially were going over West Malling but looking at that route no where near unless they might zigzag and that line is indicative rather than actual flight route.
Reads and Vulcan over my back garden (Ditton, Kent) which was the perfect pressie for my 2yr old son. Couldn’t have hired them to plan it better.
A good outcome, all things considered.
It was a mercy that this was not one of the joy-riding fleet two seaters which are now flying very frequently with various operators since the CAA granted approval.
Twice the headcount equals twice the risk, of course.
I take it you don’t fly or drive or do anything that isn’t risk free?
This accident does not involve a twin seat and fatalities but a single seat with a successful landing after engine failure.
The remark about the twin seat passenger flight is pointless and is no different from other private or commercial travel. We don’t see all flights being cancelled after an commercial crash with hundreds of fatalities using your quote but changing the number ‘280 passengers 280 the risk of course’.How stupid a comment was that!
After every incident or accident with a fatality or not in thus case, there are always people wanting to come out with smart Alec comments. Just keep options to yourself unless they are constructive and relevant.
You can also fly in a mustang if you want which there is only one over here and nothing to compare with in terms of safety. In the states it’s endless.
Dan is a superb experienced pilot and am glad he is ok. I for one would like him to be piloting on my flight.
So I gather she wont be at legends as advertised. I did hold some hope but assembly in a day then flight check with no evidence of her at Dx today I guess she wont be there.
Well it didn’t fly at legends so I guess the owner has other plans for her. Maybe she would have had one of the other UK based parties won her.
If she is where was she assembled? test flight could be tomorrow morning I guess.

My tickets already arrived, nice relaxing day at the little airfield with close flying being my very local aerodrome. Then off to DX on the sunday 🙂
May air show participation update
mmm looks a bit bare to me in terms of WWII AC, no buchon for the BOB sequence, no p-40b/C, lack of strategic bombers (albeit there aren’t much around but could have got the invader and a B-25), I guess there is time to add a few and a few may not have their PDA’s? Seems to be quite a number of civil type.
I was one of the very fortunate to meet him on the BOB 70th anniversary flight with a few of the other few. he was a very spritely chap and seemed very approachable. He will be missed down here with the BOB museum.
Mosquito……naaaaaaaaaaaaa surely not.
I wonder if John Romain be interested to get one flying. He could do with the parts if nothing else.

Good for Neville!!:applause:
Nice to see my daughter facing the camera rather than looking at the aircraft (around a min into the video).
Bit of an event here, JR has just landed the buchon after his engine blew. Landing safely without incident cutting engine once touchdown.
Black smoke in the air and tonnes of oil on stbd side. She was coughing and spluttering as she came out a b roll.
I think I’ll pop down the Rd to see what’s going on. Will be bloody brilliant if this is true and great to see spits out of Headcorn on a regular basis. I’ll try find out more details on potential spit flights as my name will be on that list tomorrow if that’s the case.
The pilots are very experienced, ex and current bbmf, and perhaps this maybe the reason for the licence. They must have the application approved otherwise they wouldn’t have announced it which suggests the relaxation is imminent.
Good times.
Looks like Dan to me in that close up. Manston’s displays were always superb, nice and close and the manovers constantly flowing.
