I just hope there will be a way of preserving the two museums, which is of relevant interest to this forum. I might learn more today when I go over there.
The museums are not linked to Manston owners or the airport in any way at all. They are separate charities/trusts not a PLC/Ltd companyies. They will remain open as usual and act as if nothing has happened.
Oh goody, will be able to see them at least 3 times (2x CO & shoreham). Add some fighters and that will be heaven. My son’s bday on the 17th whic he will be 1yr old. Wonder whther he will see a pair fly again in his lifetime.
Ooooh baby, im in heaven with that lot.
The lady does seem to have been genuinely wing walking. I wonder what effect that would have on the airflow over the wings, on the ability of the aerofoil to generate lift?
My sympathies go to her two boys, I’m afraid I can have non for people who do such daft things as wing walking.
Regards
Ditto, Yes its sad that she died, but we have to look at the obvious here in that if you ‘choose’ to do a daft thing like this as a job then, im affraid law of averags will catch up eventually.
Wing walking and ‘wing walking’ are two different kettle of fishes. She could have slipped anyhow.
I remember not long ago in the states another guy slipped and died trying to go from a helicopter to a biplane.
I guess this is high risk entertainment with the consequences that go with it.
I may be harsh but its reality and this type of entertainment is not what I would say is part of our hobby/passion.
This front had to come and go , was a bit slow at the begining of the week but seems to have sped up and cleared the way for sat/sunday. i mean 17degrees thats hot 🙂

I couldn’t believe my seat allocation next to this remarkable gentleman. Hardtarget, I don’t know about you, but it was a seriously hard call to commit to that flight. But I can see now especially, that to be part of that tribute in such distinguished company was worth it. Sometimes you just have to follow your instincts.
Quite agree, somethings you cant put a price on especially a once in a lifetime event. Never again will that happen and is even more poingant now that the few are getting fewer. Such an honour to be in the comany of some of the few.
I sat next to Edward Fox (actor in BOB) and the then secretary state of defence, Dr Fox in Seat 22C. Both seemed nice chaps too.
This is most sad, i met him on the BOB commemorative flight in 2010 and only say a few rows back, he seemed a pleasant chap and was very talkative in the foyer awaiting our flight. Blue skies sir, you will live long in the memory of your poems.
Lets hope and prey that the usual daily mail reporting is correct in that its mostly wrong and jumps the gun.
Thought he wasnt coming, that what her fb site said im sure. I wonder if she is only on static or will fly?
Where has it been stated that the Balbo has been suspended? Certainly not seen anything from TFC?
Whats the asterix for, aircraft that are actually displaying with the non asterix static?
A couple of Gr4s have requested waythrough after entering the Malta ATC airspace. 🙂
Sounds like a total waste of time if only 3 aircraft flew. Im so so glad i didnt make the trip from Kent on sunday after much deliberation and reading the meteological reports. I took a look at the cloudbase on the net and forecast and thought better of it. Shame though as its run by a charity and they deserve a full house and complete display schedule.
There looks to be a lot of omissions from the provisional list.
