Sadly died today . No doubt remembered by all who saw ‘that’ film, she played the feisty Section Officer Harvey, who took on Kenneth Moore.
Her robust Historic Aircraft credentials are further reinforced by her role co-starring with Sally-B in the 1980’s drama, We’ll Meet Again”.
Seen here being taught how to salute by ‘Ginger’ Lacey and Guy Hamilton
They failed hopelessly as seen late in the movie where Susannah threw a salute to Kenneth More; high heels and saluting don’t go together.
She did her best in the B0B, and you can’t blame her for the miscasting.
To be replaced shortly.
I did not reduce HMS Hermes in size so as to give the clear impression of just how large it was – Sydney Harbour late 60s. What has this to do with an aviation forum – hopefully there are Fleet Air Arm types out there who are happy for me to show one of my favourite photos.

What is that up the back of the store – a Sopwith Camel or Pup?
All photos taken by me except for the BXW pre-war photographs. The water colour was on display at the Naval & Military Club of which I was a member. I had forgotten the source of the BXW photos and may need to gain approval for posting them retrospectively. The Brussels photos were taken in the mid 80s; the Vietnam photos were taken in the early 70s; the Sunderland in the late 60s or early 70s; the B17 in the early 70s; the Mustang in the mid 60s; is there an interest in more?

Not so final after all – here are some more.

And these Bager1968?

And this Bager1968?

All registration numbers are hidden/not visable, so the only thing that can be seen is what looks like “USAF” under the port outer wing… indicating that it is a USAF C-46 Commando.
However, it might be some other AF… the first letters are pretty indistinct.
Air America (the CIAs airline) C46 Saigon 1971.
What about this Bager1968?

Absolute crud..pure BS
I am not so sure of that – we will see what Dassault and the Department of Defence have to say about it.
