    Quite.

VTTSCM, perhaps you forget that the project had been ongoing for many years before HLF came along, talk about biting the hand that once fed you -and to a certain extent still does. 🙁

Talk to the Bucc Boys, LPG, BAH, original VTS volunteers, and the many enthusiasts that work on the aircraft at Bruntingthorpe which are stored FREE OF CHARGE with all the support the airfield can give them – see if they agree that the Waltons are IN ANY WAY at fault. You sir, are a moron. 😡

Still, theres another project that may appeal to you – have a chat with Speedbird.

Well put, Any one with at least one brain cell, only has to walk around Brunty to see British aviation is fully supported there, and there isnt one group resident who would disagree. So to those bone heads blaming the Waltons……Know your facts before spouting off utter rubbish!

Ok my turn to vent off now too, after struggling outside all day, cos our local parish council think its unecessary to have a hanger for the long term preservation of historic aircraft. grrrrrrrrr

If the vixen has little appeal to Jo public, then Jo public must be bl~**y blind!

I dont frequent a lot of the airshows any more because they are samey sh*te!. every year another significant and interesting aircraft dissapears from the circuit because of another beurocratic lunatic brussel sprout sticking his nose in, or another idiotic labourite rule comes in, slamming another door shut to the aviation community, Easa insurance regulations being a case in point.(We havent got the euro dollar yet! so kn*b off with ya ridiculous rules!!) And for what? so that the display circuits can be further filled with monstrous airbus A340’s lumbering around, labotamising every one into a coma, and using 10 times the amount of fuel, which of course will have doubled in price since last years show.

What about reminding everyone, including our asylum challenged friends, of our heritage and ingenuity?, displaying proper aircraft such as the Vixen, Bucc, Lightning etc, instead of forcing us all to up sticks and ship them all over to the other side of the pond to fly em. I am in total agreement with XR 537, this country is a sad remnant of what it once stood for, and labour have trashed it to new lows since the last election. If it werent for two aircraft that demand my undivided attention at present, I would Kn***b off to Oz tomorow, The chavs and croneys can have the united P**ss take of Britania, cos its past the point of recovery. I cant stand the sight of Blair and his fat pompous clowns, and I was one of the fool hardy electorate taken in by their holier than thou promises in 97! I voted for em!

British historic aviation, and Fred Dibnas age of steam programs are/were the last surviving bastion of true british inginuity and grit, for all to see, something to be proud of, which represented the nations psychi, but of course we are not allowed to be reminded of this any more, its not PC. Wouldnt it be great to have a program like Freds, where being PC was left in the studio, but about British aircraft, now that would be something to watch.

We can critisice our French friends, but at least when their govenrment takes the p@!ss, they get out on to the streets and Bl+@dy well riot until the governemnt backs down! Many of the silly brussels directive we have to uphold, the French simply dont!

What a shame the raving looney party doesnt exist any more, theid get my vote in a few weeks time.

    sighhh. thats better.

    Next please.

good luck finding war time stereoscopic photos, your best bet would be something like Cosford archives maybe.

Modern Satellite pictures are mostly stereoscopic, since they are used by all agencies from USGS, BGS, DEFRA, NSA etc etc, for topographic relief, and disaster management.

Exactly, exmpa – to quote you if I may.

Even if a Sponsor steps in, the terms of any agreement would be sticky – it is trust property with a charitable status – they cant cede the asset to anyone else…

The enormity of the waste, unless Mr Chutney fronts up with some Virgin wonger cannot be comprehended.

Still, we might get ‘our’ hangar back – eh Phil? BTW – this love in thing with Moggy…we need to talk 😮

    TT

Yeah thats a point, I assume the Waltons transfered the airframe to trust ownership with charitable status as a means to and . ie to get the HLF, since the funding appears to have been pulled now, will the airframe go back to private ownership????

maybe forget about HLF.Get ownership back, and try for an independant venture, such as Mr Chutney. Allthough the colour scheme would be Novel 😀

Marshalls and others getting involved purely for money? I doubt its that simple. Bae being a case in point. Reputations are still at stake, in a very litigeous game. A venture still needs to be top notch for the bae’s and Marshalls of this world to put themselves on the line and act as DA.

oh to have a hangar back. youll go soft! 😉

there was always a risk that if this project fell flat on its back side, it would damage future applications for aviation related grants. Well, s@*t happens. Good on em for having a good crack at it. If it had never been viable in the first place, a long established firm like Marshalls wouldnt have got involved.

If it was me, With all the infrastructure already in place and the meat and veg of the project well on its way, I would now be kissing the back side of someone that loves to rail against the established and stuffy, someone who just cant get enough publicity from being a major thorn in the side to such stuffy school tie club comittes such as HLF. Who? well, who else! Yes, I would be giving the airframe away FOC, and kissing Mr Virgins ARS*!.

Does anyone else find it nauseating though that something as significant as this sign should be paraded on eBay rather than donated to the museum? Surely anyone with an ounce of interest in aviation heritage and history would make sure it’s displayed in it’s rightful place.

Better be quiet before I say something I shouldn’t. 😡

here here. Like I said, it should go BACK to its rightful place. Tangmere! not ebay, poor show.

    Dave T,

Im not sure what the long term plan is for it, we have suggested one or two uses for it, such as 1) use for a crash scene or 2) some of us have offered to run the Lightning in full reheat directly infront of it, hopefully that will finish off the jags BDR/fire training duties! 😀

Id be surprised if anyone in their right minds would want to buy it anyway.
