Surprised no one has mentioned Su-35 yet.
there’s a lot of love for the Gripen in this thread.
or for those who followed the OP’s rules, a lot of love for flankers.
and one predictable choice for the jf-17.. which is fine really. no love for tejas? even Golden Eagle got one or two.
The English took the lands of the native Americans. What do you say about that?
tis bad i say, but at least in America they teach about it to their children its bad. just like how the UK teaches about British imperialism to young lads.
if the Tornado had fixed wings..

or
Exactly…If its induction and operational use does anything, its to insight Israel to actually take it out..To make it a point if for nothing else 😉
not only will Israel take it out, it will be flown by a Russian-Israeli pilot.
I feel that better place to start would have been to fit the MF2000 upgrade package that is being fitted to the Mirage F-1 based around the RDY-3 radar giving the FRS51 a BVR capability also they should think about removing one of the gun pods and fitting a laser designation pod in it place when A2G configuration

what the Harrier cockpit could look like under MF2000
given that India already has stocks of French weapons, it would’ve been better
isn’t the F-16 around 2-4000 USD?
what’s the difference between DSI and shockcones ala M2K.
They seem rather similar if not the same aside from the shape.
the YF-23 if made production, wouldve had a shock cone as well.
One could seriously argue against canada’s need for a 5th gen fighter, When a Bunch of Advanced GH Varients (Customized) Supported by Long range F-15SE or Su-35 type fighters with awesome range is all that it takes…I agree here, The Need for the F-35 is very questionable…
Actually one could argue that if i wanted to bomb Iran the current fleet is more then sufficient…Use the B-2’s for deep strike, and the F-22’s to take care of the Air defence systems…The fighter fleet can be taken care of with the existing F-15C’s and F-16’s…The F-35 is for the future, where the level of IADS and their proliferation warrants a much greater VLO fleet to accomplish the A2G objectives….
but what about them countries that don’t have an F-22 or B-2.. like UK. if they wanted to do some bombing, the F-35 is the only viable choice aside from stand off approaches.
screw the j-10! much of Pakistan’s problems are internal, not India.
as such, can we see more drones or helicopters being ordered by Pakistan?
perhaps the WZ-10 or the other attack helicopter (can’t remember the name but looks like the OH-1 Ninja)
Since my “nation” was founded many generations ago and apparently like many others on here doesn’t get priority when it comes to next generation aircraft even ahead of the manufacturing nations own armed forces:
Air Defense:
24 – MiG-21bis Fishbed (ordered from Mikoyan in eighties)
12 – MiG-29A Fulcrum fighters (Ex-Russian/Soviet)
6 – Tornado F3 (donated by RAF as good will gesture after our Special Forces rescued 16 hostages held by our western neighbours terrorist arm)
10 – Rafale C – Awaiting delivery but will replace the aboveClose Support/Interdiction:
6 – Su-24MK Fencers (Ordered fresh from Sukhoi)
8 – Il-28 Beagles (Oldest aircraft in service, in reserve)
16 – F-5E Tiger II (US donation from the eighties)Recce/AWACS/EW:
3 – IL-28 Beagles (used for photo recon)
1 – E-2C Hawkeye (ex-US Navy)Fixed Wing Transport:
6 x C-130H Hercules also fitted with improvised bomb racks
3 – Islander Defenders fitted with improvised bomb racksRotary Wing:
12 – Mi-24 Hind-D for Attack
8 – Mi-17 Hip for AssaultTraining:
24 – Yak-52 for Basic also Light Attack
6 – L-39ZE Albatross for advanced jet and light attack currently being replaced by our own indigneous design the single engine AJT-15 Bull
12 – Mi-8 Hip – Rotary training and assault
mr pepper, if you may, I am curious to what your nation is so I may examine its air force.
I suspect the recent acquisition of MiG-29K’s may render the Harriers surplus.
indeed, however I was under the impression the IN intends to keep the harriers a bit longer beyond the introduction of the 29K.
last one too many people complain about limit and too many people choose wrong airplane so I will fix it.
you can use any airplane you want from any country
u budget is same like denmark, i think it is 7,083,000,000 a yearu have 2 problems!
1. your neighbor in east claim your islands! your neighbor weak and sucks but is supported by a strong country. you need ability to defend islands and intercept fighters and shoot ships. they use old f15
2. your neighbor in west is not stable and has some problem with muslim terrorist
scenario sounds suspicious.. island issue eh.
if budget is like denmark. I might as well use denmark’s structure. with some changes
48 Pak-Fa (because I’d want F-22s but I think Pak-fa will have anti shipping abilities added which the F-22 doesnt have, and I dont trust the F-35s ability to beat F-15s)
4 Kawasaki C-2 for Tactical Transport
3 Mitsubishi MRJ for VIP Transport
10 Kawasaki P-1 for ASW and ELINT
5 Shin Meiwa PS2 for SAR
27 Kawasaki T-4 for advance trainer
12 PZL Orlik for basic training
14 Merlins for SAR and Tactical Transport
15 PZL W-3 Sokol for utility
2 E767
that should be good for a Danish size military to monitor islands.
As for Muslims on the other side. how about instead of going against them. sponsor them.
tsr2 look a lot like j8ii and same role too!
i feel tsr2 is british version of the j8
difference is tsr2 has french style intake and j8 has f4 style intake
i think if tsr2 became reality it performance would be like j8 level
not the same role.
more like A-5 Vigilante than j8.
A-5 was sure a beautiful aircraft. best looking aircraft of its era by far
I don’t understand the negativity of many posters towards JF-17. It is a modern, capable and inexpensive aircraft that can hold its own amongst its contemporaries in Gripen, Tejas, F/A-50 and Ching Kuo. And with continued development (WS-13, AESA, etc.) it will remain broadly competitive with future Gripen and Tejas developments.
1. perhaps its because the market for cheap light weight fighters is as small as the aircraft itself? poor countries are buying mid-heavy planes even.
2. even poor countries have standards and jf-17 doesn’t meet them.
3. most countries dont have pakistan’s problems with suppliers.
I thought I’d made my views clear over the years with my rants……….but………Y-20 pretty much got it. I had hoped that they would have gotten back into CTOL aviation, but alas, tis not to be. They will end up with two multi-purpose warships that I would concider to be an improvement on the capabilities of Hermes but not Eagle or Ark Royal…….
i was half right.
but did you prefer the BaE ctol design or the Thales ctol design?
