Would look better with area ruling and without the large airbrakes under the wings.
I personally prefer the look of the hornet much more than the super hornet

Here are three questions for raising this topic:
1) Why there is no scaled models presented on-line while I searched google? If anyone made this model, I hope he would share photos when this thread would be seen.
2) Mirage G-8 vs MiG-23, I’m inviting your position and your reason.
3) Is is possible the Mirage G-8 became a same generation fighter as F-14 Tomcat?
no g-8 is one generation older than the tomcat but the French apparently felt the Tornado was a rival of the g-8.
if using malaysia and venezuela as OP suggested that means budget of 3-4 trillion.
so I’m just going to base my air force on the Finnish model because I think its quite kosher, just swap it out with “eastern” planes.
is Poland considered west or east here? Poland is good because they take non-cash stuff as payment and quality is good enough.

Why do you disapprove of them?
probably because he was a big fan and preferred the BaE concept better
which I do too.
but the Thales version is not bad.. still quite sexy.
EELighnting,
Ok we know you love the Typhoon but just please get out of this thread beacuse there’s nothing to do with this Typhoon conservation. Even this isn’t a Super Hornet vs Typhoon thread either. The Mods going to be angry and lock the thread. I suggest to you is to move on. Take that info to a person who is talking about the Raptor or something. This is a “Picture” Thread for the last time. Super Hornet is capable of BOTH Air Superiority and Air To Ground operations. I HATE when people say its capable of this. It’s capable of BOTH operations, get it right.
Stevie, he’s also in the PAF thread talking about typhoon even though Pakistan and its neighbors don’t even use typhoon. just ignore or click the black triangle button on the bottom left corner of the post to report to a moderator. no need to divert attention away from the thread topic. There’s a typhoon thread on this page I believe.
As for super hornet, no one says its not capable for A2A..in fact its quite capable of defending itself. but its more famous for its air to ground and really air to ground wins war even though its not as sexy as air to air combat.
Libya was not won through air to air my friend!
Super Hornet with A2A missiles. That’s some beauty there. 😀 Bombs are just too dumb on the Hornet. Super Hornet is the best with A2A missiles.
I certainly much prefer the looks of the two seat hornet over the single seat.
in fact most two seaters over single seat.
the exceptions are the mig-25 and the single seat prototype of the F-4
To defend carriers and air superiority? Is that what you mean?
well with the 3rd person mentioned by ee.. that makes it 3 commodores who are in the hornet camp.
air superiority means the ability to control air space.
France is still pissed off about losing the last Korean contract. Notice they aren’t even bidding this time around.
Its okay for France to be upset, but they must realize that Korea is still more or less a US security colony, just like the UK and Japan.
but aside from that, the Koreans did hold the Rafale in very high regards.
What do you mean better air defence aircraft? Sorry I get too confused.
probably referring to either Commodore Steve Jermy or Commodore Neill Thomas who are experienced naval aviators in the Royal Navy, so it probably refers to fleet air defense.
Thinking of all the missed opportunities relating to Europe and Typhoon is enough to drive one to drink. But to posit KF-X as missed opportunity for Germany and Spain requires several other fantastical assumptions: namely of a Germany with a greater regard for military investment and development, and of a Spain that could afford to buy or develop anything — something which also comes back to Germany, oddly enough.
you are correct in that part..
most of Europe is very broke, they dont want any more typhoons let alone another new fighter.
spain and germany especially, don’t have major threats.
maybe the Koreans should work with Dassault instead..the French are still active in security interests at least.
Improves Eurofighter’s chances or will SK buy American whatever anyone else offers?
in the end, South Korea wants an aircraft superior to what its neighbors field, not equal to.
growler, you might like this news clip:
an article in the December issue of ‘Warships – International Fleet Review’, by a retired Commodore RN (former head of the Fleet Air Arm).
He wants the Royal Navy to lease 60 Super Hornets, which are currently being flown by RN pilots with the US Navy, and “..would cost less than the new engines needed to see Tornado through to the end of its service life.”
In the article, he claims that the F/A-18E/F is “.. a better ground-attack aircraft than Tornado or Harrier; a better air-defence aircraft than (and less than a third of the price of) Typhoon.”

I haven’t received any warning from anyone. I made a point after being provoked, I thought was valid and I’m sticking to it.
you need to calm down, enjoy life, enjoy super hornets. be like growler.
