    if you read this

    https://theaviationist.com/2015/01/27/polish-f-16-combat-ready/

The second argument provided by General Gocuł dealt with the operative costs associated with the F-16: the MiG-29 is cheaper to operate than the Fighting Falcons hence, deploying the Fulcrums is a way for not burdening the taxpayers. Apparently, cost of one flight hour of the MiG-29, according to various sources (exact data is unknown), is shaped at around 5,500 USD. In case of the F-16 the amount is as much as 7,700 USD.

But again, Gen Gocuł stated in an interview for the January issue of the Polish “Lotnictwo” magazine, that the Polish MiG-29s clocked 300 flying hours during May-August 2014, which is approximately 75 hours per aircraft. This provides a rough estimate of how much the Poles spent on its MiG-29s operational activities. This figure stands at around 1.7 million USD per fleet compared to 2.3 million USD it would cost to utilize the F-16s.

    as for su-30
    yes and no.
most of your enemies are on the ground. falcons or flankers aren’t as useful as other types there

To0 much misinformation about Turkey’s TF-X program here.

Firstly, Turkey’s TX program and TF-X program are two different programs.

The First is a Jet Trainer replacement for the Talons- dubbed the T-X program
The Second is an Air-Superiority Twin-engine fighter that would compliment the F-35 in a network-centric airforce structure: the TF-X program.

Sierra Nevada Corporation and Turkish Aerospace Industries have jointly developed the Freedom Trainer, which will almost certainly win Turkey’s TX trainer program

BAE Systems + Rolls Royce + Turkish Aerospace Industries + TUSAS Engine Industries are working on the TF-X Air Superiority Fighter program.

Now BAE Systems is merely providing technology (BAE Replica program and Eurofighter Typhoon technology) transfer and Engineering support services to TAI in the TFX program.

Rolls Royce is also transferring EJ-200 technology to TUSAS Engine Industries. Rolls Royce has extensive research on a EJ-200 with Thrust vectoring that did not come to fruition. TEI wants to develop the EJ-200 with thrust vectoring further and use it as an indigenous replacement for the TF-X.

    so much confidence over nothing,
all the information you posted is not new or revealing. everyone else posted the same thing, or better information

you even posted an old picture of BOEING’s TX render. that’s not Turkish

Limitations on the number of times in-flight refuelling can be accomplished often involved crew complement of the receiver aircraft more than the aircraft itself. It can be a very challenging task, and very fatiguing especially towards the end of a particularly long flight. It can be a very perishable skill for many although for others it’s just like riding a bike again.

Secondly, as Dragonflyer noted, tanker availability is often an issue. The number of aircraft that require AAR can often exceed the tankers available.

Su-27 Engineers experienced difficulties with the development of the chassis. “The main landing gear,” borrowed from the F-14. Air intakes – too.

Belarus plans to buy Su-30SM this year.

Belarus is an odd one.. had flankers, retired all for fulcrums.. now wants flankers again.

they’re tiny. fulcrums would be better for their geography no?

hope the SMs come in this color

    Really?

Lets see who is jumping the gun,

PAK-FA demoed at the MAKS 2011. Full 8min demo. First flight was made on the January 29, 2010
J-20 had a short fly by at Zhuhai November 2016. First flight was on January 11, 2011
F-22 first public appearance was 2003 Edwards open house. First full demo 2007. First flight 7 September 1997.

You are forgetting the PAK-FA suffered serious setback with the 055 fire. If it wasn’t for that who knows how fast they would induct the PAK-FA.

should we start at f-22 or YF-22, which would be 1990? (wow 13 years from prototype to full version)

Korean Military In Trouble Over Battlefield And Ace Combat Footage

The South Korean military has a new program to co-develop fighter planes. To show off the project, a web video was created with tax payers’ money. Oh, and unauthorized video game footage.

The Korea Times (via tipster Sang) report that the country’s Ministry of National Defense released the ten minute clip, which features a few seconds of Battlefield 3 and Ace Combat: Assault Horizon to show off the aircraft’s performance. Heh.

You can watch a YouTube version of the clip in question below. The game footage appears between 6:53 and 7:03.

A very strange move for Northrop; the T-X competition isn’t just about the USAF’s training needs for the next 60 years but also the FMS market, off-shoring of training ( as Belgium just announced ) and the market for replacing the World’s Hawk and Alpha Jet fleets in the next 30 years.

It takes a very brave CEO to say that his company has more than 60 years of foresight. Though, naturally, his share options will vest in much less time…

It also takes BAE Systems out of the manned-airframe business; Hawk production is now concentrated in India and once the Typhoon winds-down they’ll be closing-down factories.

maybe some under the table agreement.
we’ll give you the bomber but you gotta stay out of the trainers. that’ll go to boink.

    Lol..Northrop withdrew from T-X !

Northrop BAe withdrawal cuts T-X bidders to 2

this means LM and Boeing-Saab are the only real competitors, the Freedom Trainer is just a side show.

indeed, Northrop just pounded my sweet sweet derriere with that news.

the Stealthy T-38 has now gone the way of the Tejas. out and gone!

Again as in case of Your strange claims I opted for the J-20 being as loooong as … I was probably questioning that sense of that sale, but not the fact that they signed it. So not sure who’s again on the fighting tooth and nail !

For me this deal was done at least since November 2015.

I’m only questioning these stupid claims concerning Pakistan …

no strange claims, look at all the replies about the chinese su-35 in these threads from the china fanboys

So You still think these are photoshopped images ??

Anyway; a rare image posted by @OedoSoldier at Twitter shows both J-XX concepts at the China Aerospace Science & Technology-expo in 2000: The CAC concept – aka later J-20 – in grey and the SAC concept in black.

    Deino

don’t ask me. you were the one fighting tooth and nail against su-35 acquisition. perhaps you really still think they didn’t purchase it at all.

Swiss PC-21 are very sophisticated combat simulators (up to 4 vs 4 fights eg. )

would a PC-21 be sufficient for all phases of training? (less types, easier logistics)
or still a 3-4 type progression is better?
