    can MiG-29K beat J-31?

    what does it all mean?

it means that (based on this as well as other data)
    E.Europe loves western aircraft
    but still prefers Russki helicopters?

    why?
Mig-29s and Mig-23s are not efficient peace time planes
European helicopter alternatives generally over engineered.

They’ve got serials on the fins and on the right hand size of the noses – the numbers start with 3-XXXX (3 denotes fighter in IRIIAF).

6 Saeqeh serials have been seen -3-7366 through 3-7371.

And the Iranian air force is very well documented. Even air forces in suppossedly democratic Asian countries seldom allow the level of photographic information flow the Iranians do.

Because serials are generally only proof of an aircraft’s existence.

Even when they’re randomised, they still usually don’t change. After all they require repainting and that’s usually done during an overhaul.

Americans have known for decades that Iranians have been able to keep F-14s airworthy. They even managed to get 1 to defect to Iraq in 1986 along with an F-4E in 1984. These were used to determine how they were keeping them in the air and came to conclusion there was a degree of local content.

A lot of “experts” are in denial due to patriotism or other misguided ideas. And this is regardless of nationality.

    I don’t.

The Iranians often talk big but do nothing. I wouldn’t be surprised if F-4 upgrade was just a SLEP to eek a few more years out of the airframes.

The truth is that Iran does not invest at all in it’s Air Force. I’m sure they could get Chinese JF-17s or even MiG-29s if they wanted to. Instead they’re relying on old aircraft. Their newest aircraft were delivered in early 1990s and then most of them were Iraqi jets sent there in 1991 (though I think a handful c. 6 Su-25s were delivered to IRGC in early 2000s)!

They’ve also not invested in any significant recapitalisation of air transport, helicopters or trainers. Again I’m sure they could obtain these things from non-Western sources if they wanted to.

ACIG sez other than their F-14s, their next best aircraft are Iraqi Mirage F-1s. particularly due to its ECM suite it came with.
apparently the Iranians used them against Pakistani druggies!!
    can FC-1 stop F-1s?

Where as I;m just hoping for me nation to be independent, if Wales charged 1p per thousand gallons of water it supplies to England it would have a higher GDP than Saudi Arabia…..

    if wales became independent..

We missed out on the JF-17 CPFH. According to recent statements by the PAF, 1/3rd the cost of a modern fighter, presuming that is approximately the F-16 its 5000/3 = 1,667. That’s half that of the Gripen!

lol, don’t forget to add that to your book.

Most assume that if India did select the F-35. It would be the “B” Model. Yet, consider all Indian Carriers will have Arresting Gear. Then the obvious choice is the “C” Model. Which, could operate from the Vikramadity, Vikrant, and any Future IAC-2 equipped with Catapults and Arresting Gear.

you are saying the C can take off on the stobar vikramaditya and vikrant?

Isn’t it one yak and two M346 crash?

    two crashed?

    i think its
    one yak one master

as for which is the best looking
    old Yak-130 >>>>> m-346 > new yak-130

i mean look at the old yak-130.. its faceted fuselage gave it a 5th gen trainer vibe to it.
like a yf-22 boinked an alpha jet

the m-346 and new yak-130 look more like an f-16 and alphajet hybrid
    🙁

but between t he two, m-346 does the red job better. not that yak-130 is bad.

according to ACIG, the iranian f-5s is superior to the f-7s as is, based on iriaf testimony..
one should assume a supposed upgrade of the f-5 would be even better.

And that is one the biggest problems faced by book authors and publishers. When discussions get a bit technical on this forum (for example) and textbooks are cited, it many cases the books in question are ones available in illegal PDF form on the internet.

Several years back in another forum the obvious need for a follow-on to Bill Gunston’s ‘Rockets and Missiles’ was discussed. Yes, there is a need for such a one-stop reference book on missiles, but it would be at least twice the size of Gunston’s book, and would require a significant amount of full-time work by an author or a team of authors. At that time, Gunston agreed that such a book was needed, but with his passing, and that of the publisher who owned the copyright, his text is no longer available as a starting point.

So given the time that would be needed to write a new book from scratch, it would not be cheap. So it would not be long before a pirated PDF version killed off its sales prospects.

some one is going to pirate it whether its me or not.
he will take a loss anyways as Deino said.
he’s doing it for his love for the jf-17 which if he’s willing to pay for, is fine.

You could argue the M346 is burgundy and not red.

    ^ this..
you guys thinking too much. thread is about who did the red scheme better. the newly red painted Yak or the red (or perhaps burgundy) alenia.
