Well that is a good site to see, glad to see the airport is finally being used for something. As I have always maintained, I think the airport has got real good potential to become the next best airport for the South-East after LGW.

I wonder if the likes of Easyjet or Ryanair will consider setting up a base to offer low-cost services out of MSE? I can quite easily see an FR service to Dublin, Shannon and Cork. I can also see EZY services to France, Germany and Italy but not sure if there is a market for further a field?

Keep us informed James, as I am very interested to know how things pan out…!

Hi all back from a weeks hoilday in the Cotswolds and a vist to RAF Brize Norton it was all brilliant

Yeah I keep you up to date with MSE.Have you heard about Das air cargo DAS Engineering have moved some equipment into the old MSJC Hanger with a Tug that has the words DAS on.It looks like DAS are moving into Manston has there Hanger at LGW are going to be turned into a car park.

    some other news for you
Statement from Kent International Airport, 1st June 2006

“We carefully consider all the aspects of any new business here at Kent International and take advice and guidance from the relevant authorities.
They have assured us that the export of live cattle is now both a legal and responsible form of trade.
The previous ban related to human health issues, not concern about the method of transport. Moving animals by aircraft is fast, safe and efficient.
Unfortunately, we have been given advice about the potential methods of a very small number of people opposed to the movements that raises safety concerns for our people and our assets.
This has led us to decide that we will not accept bookings for live cattle shipments at Kent International.
As much as we are disappointed that we are potentially turning away legitimate business, the safety of our people is always our number one priority.”

Ryanair would be brilliant to come into MSE there are three routes I think EZY should do and that is to MAG Faro and alicante. But I think we should have more charter flights into MSE

Heard that they do not have any radar available until the end of June due to a lightning strike last week 😮

Yeah thats true lighting hit some where on the airport and nocked out computer systerms and radar.

    Good to be back

The Buchon restoration was originally to be finished in the ‘States and flown on an Experimental ticket over there. However, two thirds of the way into the restoration the decision was taken to keep it in the UK, effectively leading to the team having to partially un-restore it for the benefit of UK regulations (hence the length of time it took to finish the restoration). RAC intend to display the aircraft at a number of UK shows this year and I believe that one of those will be Flying Legends at Duxford.

Thank you for the information 🙂
